New WP thread:
Quote:Just read this info on the PSU forum and think that all buyers and sellers there should be on the alert for account hacking. You really need to read the comments too as it is apparent that he/she is hacking seller's listings! Popper reply: Quote:As a former *hacker whacker* on E (unpaid of course) - this is very interesting. It just keeps getting better and better all the time. LOL HELLO! And as long as WP remains invisible to hackers and everybody else, including BUYERS, all Poppers will be safe and secure, indeed. |

Increased traffic for WP what a joke. Here is one way Ray will show increased traffic by manipulating the alexa numbers.

KaRayWaggle Wrote:our official entry into the mainline online consciousness That's wishful thinking. eBay and Yahoo are in the "mainline online consciousness". uBid has 4.5 million members and LiveDeal has over 1 million monthly visitors but they're unknown to the average Internet user. Reread this post:
These 2 articles are focused on Web 2.0 companies but the comments apply equally to Wagglepoop and the talk of last year's 'massive' 2400 registered user stampede to the site. Substitute the words 'the valley' in the article with 'the forums'. p.s. Raise your hands if you're familiar with AuctionFire. No hands raised? It has 70,000 users. Raise your hands if your friends or family members are familiar with LiveDeal. No hands raised again? It has 1 million unique monthly visitors. It got me thinking how many people outside of the valley have ever heard of these companies? I asked a bunch of local (Philly-area) acquaintances and the answer came back loud and clear: none nada - zip. People here have barely heard of Myspace and Craigslist let alone any of the hot Web 2.0 companies. Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Yes, eclectica, I am on my fifth ID. The door has already been slammed and locked (not) four other times.
Most of the outside traffic, in my opinion, is coming straight from those of us who pop in left and right to read the boards. Also, another big burst of traffic seems to be coming from linkreferral and reallysmartdeals. Just because someone pops in to your store does not mean they stay long enough to look around. Traffic does not equal sales. How many buyers do you really think are going to put up with phone registration? Unless they are family members and friends, dream on happy poppers. Your Quote:official entry into the mainline online consciousnesshas already happened. Online shoppers are savvy and will google you first. They also check other boards. They know all about you RayTard.
I hate stupid people!

Quote:another big burst of garbage traffic seems to be coming from linkreferral
Garbage is a good way of describing traffic generating programs like linkreferral. I disagree with this statement on their 'what is...' page: Quote:2) Improved search engine rankings and SEO optimization. Traffic generating programs/traffic exchanges like linkreferral usually have the exact opposite effect on your SEO.
