OMG Bargain! If I ever had 6000+ hits in one day my husband wouldn't be able to find me when he got home, he'd have to dig me out of the rafters!!! Wanna be my mentor???
Ill BBH is a great choice as a mentor. He and Amy also have a top notch hosting company. Without the TT admins my site would never have gotten as far in development as it has. :blinkie: To all the TT admins (Regic, Amy, BBH, Mandy) A Big THANKS To River Rat, my bud, who also has given me hope, humor, and good info. You rock my friend. |

Our old retail website was like that.
How are you guys getting so many hits with Zen Cart shops, without any paid advertising? This new X-Cart site just won't get the traffic our old site got. It's so frustrating. I've done hours of search engine submission, SEO tweaking, and tons of paid Google Adwords. I'm starting to think I've lost the ability to do it.

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Good morning all -
I haven't had time to visit this thread and participate in awhile. The question was asked about sales in Feb so I decided to add my 2 cents. Sales for me in Feb: 77 items sold. Total sales $ amount: $449.75. I do not spam boards to get my sales. I just list items and people are finding me by searching Yahoo and Google. I have seen an increase in hits to my store since the "grand opening". Also I've had a lot of new buyers buying my items. So apparently the phone verification isn't deterring people from signing up. I've noticed a lot of auction sites are doing the phone verification for both sellers and buyers now. Hope you find this information useful. UniqueSeller |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Good Morning,
I honestly am happy for anyone getting sales no matter where they sell. Congrats! I just got a little upset at someone accusing me of being a quitter and complainer. I just left a few weeks ago so it is still a sore subject. My traffic came to a halt after the phone verification thing. It was not that great before that either. I did have one $450 sale and a few months that I did about $200 in sales but I had to spend more time spamming than I did listing. My target audience was not seeing my product and selling what I do, things can sell at $40 one day and then $15 the next. I have to move product quickly or else the value goes down and I loose money. Most of the time my buyers buy on impulse not need, I think that is why the phone verification killed what little sales and traffic I was having. |
Then, I'll be honest...I don't know why I'm getting so many hits, but I'm grateful! LOL We get quite a bit of traffic from our eBay sales/listings. We don't accept PayPal, so we direct our buyers to our website to pay via credit card. We have a link in every auction listing to our website 'eBay auction checkout' page. (I had this page pre-approved by T&S before I started using it.) You'd be surprised how many people click on it just out of curiosity. :twistedevil: The rest of it is from keyword searches through search engines and links from various discussion boards (referrals from previous customers). I have no clue why the new site has gotten so many hits. The only public link to it is in the copyright notice on my auction templates and website. I do my own templates, so I originally set the site up so I could add a 'third party credit' link to my auction templates. If anyone clicks on the 'credit link', it goes to my 'graphics' website which is under contruction but has links leading to my live websites.

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Brat,
You don't have to explain yourself to any of us. I left in October, and even though it's been a while, I would also object to being called a "quitter." Anyone who knows me at all will attest to my dogged tenacity. I just could not take one more nanosecond of abuse, insults, and blame from Koolaid-drugged cheerleaders and a site owner who is a hypocrite. I had sales, as did most X-Poppers here, but it became clear early on that WP was going nowhere and everything about it was merely the ghostly manifestation of a mad man's self-glorifying mission to pursuade Poppers to create for him what he cannot do for himself. I was being used and was paying for the privilege. And once I figured this out, I was tossed out like a spoiled tomato and then presented with a final invoice which I did not owe. WP is not about being an on-line auction venue. It's about convincing "followers" to build a business, not for themselves, but for Ray. It's all about Ray and HIS emperial power. If Poppers have sales -- good for them, but few realize their sales are spite of, and NOT because of their boinktard leader and his poor excuse for an auction site. It took two weeks of C&P, including 2 all-nighters, to get all my items out of WP and someplace else, but the sense of relief when it was all said and done was exhilerating. My final post was pulled in exactly two minutes and the entire thread, including responses to the post (yes, even in that short amount of time, I had responses) was yanked, along with all posts on other threads that even referred to my final post. Seven seconds later, my account was terminated without warning. Ray runs his site like a totalitarian state, complete with marshall law, spies who spam boards and tattle to their leader and snipers strategically perched behind sock puppets to shoot down dissention. To all new TT members. Speak your mind and spew your feelings. We are open, honest and willing to nurse you back to reality and restore your self-respect. |
