I've been trying to register for the last half hour.  I'm still waiting for an e-mail containing my registration code.

a quick dns lookup shows that the domain is registered by proxy, which is usually a sign of a scam, but last time 'round ray said there were death threats, etc. and if he's using home address rather than a business address, would make sense to do by proxy. course, one could just as easily rent a box at a Mailboxes Etc. but, we saw where that got greenzap - addy of a mailbox at a ralph's grocery store - lol!

domain is registered until 2011, which is a good sign (as far as scam vs. non-scam and his wanting to make it work)

"consulting and contracting with industry experts in both the hardware and software department" might be a bit of a exagerration(sp?) but not a flat out lie.  he did 'contract' with some supposed experts in online auction software (insert a little bit of tongue-in-cheek) 

i think i'll just sit back and pop some popcorn and watch the show

An ownership lookup of their IP is showing they're hosted by ezzi.net which is also RScript's host.  The RScript auction script has become a favorite of small auction site owners over the past 6-9 months.

As many of you know, we made just about every mistake possible during our first launch

And he's already off to a bad start this time around by spamming people. He wants to get the word out there are other way, not by spamming people who didn't even register on his site (like me).

Ultimately, as founder of Wagglepop, I accept all responsibility for the failure of our initial attempt.

Well duh...who else does he think could take responsibility?

Together, we can change everything.

I hope this doesn't become a sore issue among us.  I never got involved enough with Ray or WagglePop to like or dislike.  At this point, I have no opinion and therefore plead ignorance.  
I am also open minded enough to know some of you probably have some pretttttty good reasons to dislike WagglePop.  
Either way, time will tell...

It doesn't surprise me that he's trying again, because of the total idiocy of ebay actions.  However, is he still really just using a small, out-of-the-box auction software? -- one that will crash with 50 users when 50,000 might throw all caution to the wind and jump on board?

I am also open minded enough to know some of you probably have some pretttttty good reasons to dislike WagglePop.  That's right, banta.  He won't have the huge signup at first, that's for sure, due to total disgust and severe wariness.

I'll have to check it out and keep an eye on it, anyway.  Might be a good source for some great entertainment.  8)

Ray, like Jason Bidzig, supposedly deleted all information when he closed.  My comments (OK lunatic rant  :twistedevil: ) about BidZig lieing about the deletion of personal information obviously apply here too.

Either way, time will tell...

I regard it as just another of the dozens (perhaps hundreds) of other sites using RScript--given the fact that the "Poppers" (who are the primary users of the other Rscript sites) probably won't be rushing back for a second go-round of Ray's BS, I'd be surprised if the Second Coming of WP is even able to achieve the size of the largest RScript site (theauctionman.net with 24K listings).

Charging an insertion fee of 5 cents he is going to be hard pressed to get any sellers. Yahoo is free insertions with no FVFs...it has buyers.  My subscription plan on Overstock comes out to 1/10 of one cent ($0.001) per listing...O has buyers.  WP has no buyers and is 5 cents???
