Quote:I respect all religions, races and opinions so please no one take offense. I just hate when people put it on "a higher power" rather than taking responsibility for they're own success or failure. I pray when it's warranted (and sometimes for selfish reasons) but I am responsible for my own actions, no one else. I agree, and hope no one was offended by my discussion of structure. My mother bless her loving heart let me discover for myself what I believe in. To me spirituality, meaning your beliefs about your connection to self, others, and even the planet are very private. All belief systems including agnostics and atheists are very personal, and I honor them all. We are all on the same journey, discovering who we are, our own personal truths, and why are we here. We are just taking different paths on this journey. Ray is obviously very good at manipulating others, he literally banks on it. He is telling the poppers what they want to hear, or need to hear. He has a history of identifying and just like a predator zeroing in on the vulnerability, rage, disillusionment, and dependency needs of the most devout cheerleaders. He is a pied piper, and feeds off of the admiration and literal worship these folks give him. Ok I am sure you are all sick of my philisophical ramblings, so who is going to volunteer to type up the 12 steps? I am off to work, just as Fab stated although not WP but ebay accelerated my return to the weekly grind. Instead of 10 cents, maybe we could run an auction for "some common sense" |

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
I really wish that you could still see the posts from FAS on Wagglepoop 1. Many of us believed that we were helping to shape a new auction site that would be our salvation because we needed to believe that and because Ray asked for our input every step of the way. He treated our ideas with respect. When people came to FAS and questioned Ray, many of us felt that we were being personally attacked too because it had become our baby and the nonbelievers were referred to as trolls.
It took me a long time to wake up because I was so invested in it all. Even when I read the posts on OTWA for the first time I didn't want to believe that Ray was not the Messiah. I tried to make excuses for him to myself, but that was actually when I started having serious doubts about the whole Wagglepoop thing. I watched the train wreck on the sidelines and became more and more convinced every day that it was a scam. All those posts would have made an amazing study in the psychology of manipulation. |

Quote:Actually, I'm beginning to wonder if it's not a vendetta against the WP1'ers who went after him -- not ebay. An *I'll show every last one of you, rake it in while I can, and laugh all the way to the bank* type situation. I'm inclined to think he knows very well that WP2 won't last much longer, but he's going to get the most out of it that he possibly can. And get some kind of sadistic pleasure out of screwing gullible folks at the same time. Stardust, you're dead-on. I think this is why WP2 was born. To say "screw you" to Toy Ranch and all the other logical "naysayers."

Also, my earlier statement was in explanation as to why some of those people seem to enjoy being controlled. It wasn't meant to imply that everyone who has given WP a shot is in need of a cult. LOL. Some of them seem to be real sellers who just heard of WP as an alternative to eBay and have been caught up in the fervor.
This time around I think he lured a lot of people who didn't even know about WP1. I'm happy for anyone who has the guts to question what he says. The sooner they wake up, the more $10 / month fees they keep for their own families. And in all seriousness, our decisions should be about business and about financial goals. It's natural to ask hard questions about a place that you invest money in. It's natural to want you business to do more and to be sustainable. The fact that WP doesn't care to answer those questions or to help businesspeople with those issues, says a LOT. If WP fails again, he will blame it on all the naysayers like he did the first time around. Without question.

I was also thinking...
do you guys remember the head cheerleader at FAS? Susan? Or Sally? What was her name? The one that he elected as his single customer service person, who was working for free for the "honor" of being in on the start of a new auction site? I wonder if she is Karen? I wonder if she's the employee(s) that are working without pay?

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
When I read the posts here I see a lot of interesting people with good insight and business sense. Each of us that actually had a store on Wag the Dog went there to grow our business and become more profitable. We got sucked into the thought of more money and less fees. Then there was that moment when the hair stood up on the back of our necks and we wanted to run! The difference between the refugees here and the natives still on the island is we listened to our guts.
So, I have a question for everyone. If you were still souced on koolaid and cheering up a storm what would catch your attention and cause you to doubt the raybil? I was thinking about that and my defining moment was just before Alskling got attacked. It was a simple question about not being able to list and Raybil kept saying it was on their end and nothing to do with Wp. It just struck me wrong and then of course Alskling got attacked, I got attacked and the rest is history. ??? Oh and question for the technically inclined. If you sign up for Wag the Dog and you get booted, what if the ISP you signed up with was at a public library? Would anyone who used that computer and tried to sign up be blocked? I know a few people who use public computers to do their online stuff and I was thinking that they wouldn't be able to sign up if that ISP had been blocked for some reason or another.
Good bye all

[/quote] I just love being controlled, handcuffs, etc Oh wait, that is the other forum I go to, sorry about that!! ;D Excellent point!! I found Wag the Dog when I asked a seller on Ebay about the link in her email. She told me to contact karen and I could ask all the questions I wanted and that it was less expensive then selling on Ebay. I asked questions, but not what I probably should have now that I look back. I wasn't really concerned about advertising, traffic flow, etc., I was looking for a less expensive selling venue.
Good bye all
