Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Poppers seem less than excited about the new guides.
Quote:Although I think that guides could be an excellent and valuable addition to the WP site, my experience has been (over on eBay) that guides were used mostly for blantant self-promotion and provided no helpful information whatsoever. Personally, think shoppers and store owners are better served by WP's policy of unlimited custom store pages that store owners can use to publish guides or otherwise helpful information. Quote:To chime in, I've visited the guides board over at the other place, and they are indeed filled with complaints about how the system is abused. It seemed like such a good idea to me at first, but then hearing about the abuses... Now I'm not so sure. Karen replies, I added the bolding. Quote:As designed, Wagglepop Buying & Collector Guides bears very little similarity to eBay's Tips & Guides feature. So even the poppers suspect that WP is merely copying Ebay now.

Alskling, it is O.K. if you don't know what a Silver Level PowerSeller is. My previous experience is completely irrelevant to the WP opportunity anyway. I'm not creating the opportunity, just taking advantage of it.
For someone that complains about all the trash talk, you sure can dish it out. Previous experience isn't irrelevant as it should help you to make better business decisions. You're nothing but a hypocrite. BTW - my numbers put me at Gold level for the last 30 days (and completed listings can be verified through Goofbay) - so I do know what Silver is, lol. WP is NO great selling opportunity. I wouldn't put all my eggs in one basket either, but WP is a complete waste of time even if the fees are low.

My previous experience is completely irrelevant to the WP opportunity anyway. I'm not creating the opportunity, just taking advantage of it.
If your only taking advantage of it, why did you decide to become the spokesperson for Wagglepop on TT? That suggests a greater passion than one would have if they were merely taking advantage of a venue.
Excellent question! Silly me, I thought people on TT were saying things like "there are no sales on Wagglepop" and "the only sales are sellers buying from each other" because they just didn't know any better. Now I see that these things are being said because TTers REFUSE to know better. I think I'm finished wasting my time here. I have packages to ship, and you know I want to get my customers' items shipped A.S.A.P.
I think you are generalizing things a bit. I have never denied that a few WP sellers make sales and even make a small profit. Although, I must agree with the others that there is no way to make a living selling only on WP. Anyhow, my beef is with the owner and the way he manipulates through lies and censors both buyers and sellers. Its not about the amount of sales at WP.

The number of listings at WP are down again:
155,838 Falling, Falling, Falling I wonder how long it will be before a new listing contest begins

If they are having a listing race, it doesn't seem to be going very well....at least according to the numbers posted.

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
I remember many sellers on Ebay said their anger was not solely based on the fee increase. They had more complaints regarding store items being hidden, constant glitches with the search feature, and blatant disregard and treatment of store sellers.
The same is true regarding WP. Having no sales or minimal sales although identified as one reason people have left, is not the main reason expressed. The treatment of sellers including board censorship, rude and often abusive behavior by Karen and/or other members, and the failure to answer any and all relevant questions regarding the venue itself have been stated more often than the lack of sales. The obvious lack of transparency regarding the site itself raises skepticism and red flags regarding the honesty/reliability of the site itself. The site is shrouded in secrecy, beginning with the whois registration being private, to no information regarding the site's owner, and no disclosure that the site is running rscript software. There is a blatant failure to address technical problems that make completion of transactions difficult for buyers and sellers. Monitoring of private messages, including interception, and deletion. Suspension of accounts without providing an opportunity for a seller to remove their listings, etc... are unethical business practices. This isn't about putting your eggs in one basket, this is about considering putting any of your eggs into WP's basket, a site that has proven itself unworthy of trust. |
