Quote:Contact Information in Listings or Pages jojo, I went to look for listing information and found this information....I find it kinda odd that a business would not be allowed to put their phone number or other contact information in a listing,....didn't I see Skype on WP for a while, wouldn't contact using that system be in violation of this policy???
Wow.... that is odd. I think I recall seeing Skype there also, in the past. I've seen a few stores (including one on the first page of all store listings) with a phone number right in store description text. |

I wonder how long it will take WP cheerleaders to relize that once you close your store , you cant get back in the site to even look much less buy. That is about the dumbest thing I have heard yet. Or at least I cant. I am banned for saying that even though ebay fvf was 5% more , I had sells there. I have been tring to keep up with thread but getting behind... I want to welcome all new people here .

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Well, I just hope that those sellers with dismal (or no) holiday sales will wake up and realize that they are wasting their money. To those that did well, great.
Sweet, I saw the ad. I don't think any of the poppers have really read it yet. Thousands? There were only 606 stores today. It will take a little Wagglemath for that one to work out. Hopefully, a tax loss will help some dig out of the WP quicksand. Jojo, I noticed the same thing with the fake name brand items. It's scary to think that someone who doesn't recognize a fake would buy one and show it off. Even Ebay is more cautious.
I hate stupid people!

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Quote:Ok...I have a few questions for the poppers or Ray or anyone else who may care to answer. I, too, asked this not long after I joined WP, when I discovered that my first payment was sent to a guy named Ray somebody showing on my PayPal account. I only matched it up with WP by the dates and amount. That was my first red flag. I then went into Google to see if maybe the "Ray" account was a DBA or something and the "Stick a Fork" article popped up right away. And then there was more bad press to read. This was very disconcerting because there was no "Ray" even mentioned on the WP site nor any other information on who was actually running the show. It made no sense that with all the bad press over WP1 that nobody on WP2 wanted to come out of the closet and defend his/her position. No releases, no advertising, nothing. No history of the company or its owner, bios on the principles, NOTHING! I asked about it on the forums and like another X-Popper said, was stomped on and made to feel like a criminal for asking. I later figured it's part of the whole control strategy, which is very "Ray". The less Poppers know about him and the more he knows about then, the better he likes it. Plus, cults love mystery and secrecy. It makes the members feel "special". The more I found out about WP, the more it became apparent that it is a cult and not a business -- no info on who runs the show, background, pictures, location of operaton/contact info, promotion or anything else that would classify this outfit as a business. I remember one Popper asking how WP got its name. Karen responded that it was "secret" information that even she was not privvy to. I thought this to be very odd. What business won't tell its associates how it got its name? Does the word mean "dumbass" in Swaheli or something? So, what was REALLY going on here? Where is my money REALLY going? What is it REALLY being used for? It could be going to support KaRay's drug habit or the civil war in Uganda for all I know. I knew it wasn't going into advertising or promotion of any kind. I figured how much money the company was pulling in and simply asked what it was doing with it. Like someone else here said, I was not too politely told it was none of my business and Mr. Kumbaya chimed in with a very sarcastic comment about how there probably wasn't enough left over after paying all the tech support, etc. for the poor owners to buy themselves a cup of coffee and what an idiot I was for even bringing up the issue. And WP calls itself a BUSINESS? Think about it, Lurkers!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just wondering - does WP frown upon the selling of knockoff handbags and such? I was searching there for some high end names (Vuitton, Fendi, Jimmy Choo) to see if anything is being sold, most of what I found is obviously fake. I didn't see anything in the seller guidelines about whether it was allowed or not. I guess I could sit and report them all, but I doubt they'd get cancelled, that would just lower the listing counts JoJo
I, too, checked this out, as I do sell designer items and NONE are fakes. Much of what I saw on WP was obvious fakes, however, and WP didn't seem to care. It is a great concern to me because I do not want my items competing with fakes, nor do I want buyers to not purchase from me for fear of being duped. Buyers steer clear (rightly so) of sites having a reputation for peddling counterfeits by unscrupulous sellers. I did find some WP disclaimer regarding the seller being responsible for the accuracy of the listing, so with this Ray can wash his hands. What incentive would he have to police such listings, anyway? Removing them would lower his listing count, and since he doesn't give a rat's ass about buyers, just collecting store fees, policing fakes would only upset the sellers that list them. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Quote:Sellers are not allowed to enter any kind of contact info in their listings or pages, including message system contacts ( ICQ, MSN Messenger, Jabber, etc ...), phone numbers or any other type of information that a person can use to contact a seller, with one exception: A single email link is allowable, though not recommended. If a potential bidder or buyer has a question for a seller they can click the link that reads "Ask seller a question via email" or use the private messaging system. I remember seeing this when I was a seller and thought it very odd. The recommended way a buyer would be able to contact a seller is via WP's email system, which we all know is monitored and censored. I wouldn't want my phone number on my listings, but to forbid it or any other contact info made no sense. What if a seller's computer crashed or the internet was knocked out by a storm? There's not even a way to contact WP via any other method save email to CC. IF sellers are independent business owners shouldn't they be allowed to provide contact information? Particularly since it is they, and not the staff at WP, who are solely reponsible for marketing and promotion? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The more I found out about WP the more it became apparent that it is just one big :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Thanks, Truth.
Happy holidays to you. I guess PS and Toys both went back to their river in Egypt. I don't remember which one it was (Toys, I think), who mentioned having posts pulled on the eBay boards for cheering on behalf of WP, yet WP-bashing posts were allowed. NOT! The whole thread of 14 or so pages was deleted. There were a few of us here who were offering another point of view (ours), in contrast to that of the cheerleaders. What got the thread removed was Poppers spamming and our posts were deleted along with theirs'. I guess eBay just got tired of the thread being used as a "spamalot" service for lame auction sites -- mostly WP. It pissed the Poppers off because eBay cut off WP's principle means of recruitment and if Poppers want to try another spamathon they'll either have to start up a new thread or somehow sneak it into an existing one off topic. |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
I am back, after being away for awhile, got caught back up on the reading. I read several pages back about listings still showing up after sellers closed their stores and items still showing up in searches. Before I close my store if I go in and end them all they will not show up, am I correct?
