Poll: Who is to blame for sellers leaving Wagglepop en masse?

I have a store on WP. First let me say I'm not here to argue or debate WP with any of you. What I am here to do is give you the scoop on what went down with Brian on WP.

Some of the store sellers posted some of their concerns about WP in his forum on WPSSU. They thought that being it was a private forum for the sellers that they could talk about these things there.

They were mistaken. Brian banned them from the forum. The sellers were really not bashing WP they were just discussing some of their concerns.

One of the sellers he banned asked Brian to remove her logo from his site his answer was say "please". Then he proceeded to harass the seller by email. So the other sellers Brian banned went on the WP web promotion board and posted saying Brian take my logo off your site.

Brian then went on the WP board and posted the names of the sellers and said they bashed Ray, Karen and WP on his site and he won't have anyone bashing WP on his site.

After Brian posted one of the sellers posted asking Karen to remove all threads pertaining to WPSSU from the WP boards. Because he was dragging things over from another forum and disrupting the boards on WP and harassing the members.

WP did pull all threads and suspended him for 90 days. He was harassing members and his site was in violation of web promotion board policy.

Now all of a sudden Brian is anti WP. I guess it's ok to bash WP on his site now. The very thing he banned people for just the day before.

If any seller was giving WP sellers the image of being kool-aid drinking cheerleaders it was this guy. He is still passing out the kool-aid only on the other side now.

This will be my one and only post here. I just felt I had to come here and tell you what really happened. Because you are all just assuming. I just couldn't see Brian being made out to be something he is not.

Guru I don't think so. Control freak yes. If he didn't ban sellers from his site for raising concerns about WP he'd still be cheering today and pouring the kook-aid down the other sellers throats.

This turn around for Brian had nothing to do with him seeing the light at least not in the way some of you are thinking here.

As anyone would say on TT please don't be afraid to speak your mind here. You have nothing to fear about posting in this forum.

Thank you for clearing up the wpssu issue with WP. I can speak from first hand knowledge about Brian and harassing emails as he did the same thing to me back in September/October. He is a control freak as is Ray and Brian can't/couldn't stand compitition when it came to advertising for WP. He threatened me when I offered to advertise for WP store sellers in my mini mall for free and brought me down on the WP forums saying I would be charging people latter on. All CC did was remove my posts and create a web promotion forum. Brians posts stayed. In the end the only person that made money for advertising for WP was Brian through his donation system. Yes I do have a donation button on my site but nobody has ever used it and I don't expect them to. I would rather advertise people I have met in forums both here and at different venues for free then take there money.

Ok I said it before and I will say it again there is NO LOVE LOSS between me and Brian. My biggest concern is the seller that got the harassing emails from Brian, I understand what they went through.

Some of you may feel different about Brian and that is fine by me. We are all entitled to our opinions so here is mine.

Both Ray and Brian have a sickness and that is greed. 2 people like this will never get along for a prolonged period of time. One will always want it all.

Scoop, thanks for sharing that with us and setting the record straight. What an eye opener. My esteem for Brian has definitely dropped a few notches. I left as wpssu was getting off the ground and didn't have the opportunity to see this side of him.

Thank you for sharing this information. As many of us suspected, there is only enough room for one bully in Ray's sandbox.

I thoroughly agree with you regarding Brian's KoolAid addiction. He was passing the pitcher fast and furious on PSU, Blogging Stocks, his own site and anywhere else. His evangelical tactics were something Jerry Falwell could admire.

So, let's analyze what really happened here:

1) Some WP sellers had serious concerns. Since serious concerns are forbidden territory on the WP forums (and cause for account suspension under the "no tolerance" policy", these sellers thought (incorrectly) they could take the concerns to neutral ground on the WPSSU forum.

2) They were mistaken. Brian, the head WP cheerleader, shut them down by banning them from the board. (as Ray would have done)

3) Shunned from the WPSSU forum, a seller requested her WP store logo be withdrawn. After Brian's harassing emails, other sellers rallied behind this seller and also asked that their logos be withdawn. (I'm taking my marbles and going home)

4) This pissed off Brian, who went on the WP boards and posted the names of these "concerned" sellers, which "exposed" them to the rest of the Koolaid bunch as sellers to put on the "watch" list. (notice that this post was NOT deleted by KaRay, as it was Pro-WP, even though it is in CLEAR VIOLATION of WP board policy)

5) The "exposed", disgruntled (and probably embarrassed) sellers retaliated by asking, en masse, to have all WPSSU threads deleted from the board.

6) Rather than risk loosing the favor of these sellers (and looking like fools for not enforcing their own board policy), KaRay complied and now Brian is a turncoat and Ray has full control of his sandbox back.

I find it curious that many of the sellers on WP are expecting (demanding) civility from others outside of WP, but are apparently unconcerned by the childish, bullying behavior from those at the "top", e.g. Ray vs Brian. Also note, THAT HAD RAY ALLOWED THE SELLERS' CONCERNS TO BE AIRED, ADDRESSED AND DISCUSSED ON THE WP FORUMS IN THE FIRST PLACE, ALL OF THIS IN-FIGHTING COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED.

As YOHB will attest, when lift exceeds drag, an airplane has no choice but to take off. It's physics. Same goes for WP. As long as Ray exerts his authority as e-commerce Czar and WP is run like a cult (whre passion, loyalty, faith and devotion are the driving forces and not basic business sense) and not a business, situations like this are bound to continue.

Thank you for clearing up the situation with Brian. As you know, we are no longer WP sellers, so we can only interpret what we see from the bleachers, based on our own experience and what we read.

We were wrong with our speculations. I, for one, appreciate the fact that you came to tell us the truth behind the matter. You are most welcome here anytime.
