I had stopped quoting posts from WP as a courtesy and out of respect for the sellers who became upset over it. But I'm about to make an exception. PS. Considering our different views, I've still done my best to defend you here on TT but with this post you have crossed a line that even I can't excuse. Quote:xxxxxxxxxx 10 Feb 2007 22:52 Bolding mine and it is You owe many a dedicated seller, sellers who have moved on, an apology for that faux pas. I'm not talking about the sellers that left because they finally saw through Ray. I'm talking about the many who simply made the business decision that WP would not be profitable for them. But during their tenure on WP they bent over backwards to make their store a success. They are still the BEST and do not deserve to be belittled for their efforts via your exclusion just because they no longer sell on WP!!!!
youroverheadbin I agree with you on this. I felt the same when I read this one on WP a couple of days ago. Quote:Don't get discouraged. WP is still growing. And yes it does get scary when the store numbers fall. But many of those stores were never really making the TRUE effort it takes to keep a store... and they never paid the $9.95 per month to keep it. I'm still on WP I have been there for a long time. I have seen a lot of sellers leave. Some of them very recently all for various reasons. Some of them had been at WP from the start. They worked very hard promoting their stores and promoting WP too. Some were very experienced sellers who were very helpful to those less experienced while they were there. So while there still may be some very good sellers at WP who could be considered in with some of the best. There have been a lot who would be considered the best and who worked hard while they were there who have closed their stores for one reason or another. Some of them friends of mine. I consider statements like this an insult to them. |

That is why the whole you are either with us or against us mantra is so wrong. There is no way powerseller or the other poster could possibly know the reason why each seller left WP. They make broad assumptions about other people, and again blame the seller if he/she "can't cut it". What absolute disrespect to show to a community of sellers who more than likely offered help and assistance to powerseller and others. Let's hope she apologizes. |

Scoop, I saw that post you quoted too. And yes it irritated me as well. I came very close to commenting on it here but bit my tongue and slapped my fingers away from the keyboard. I was hoping it was an isolated opinion expressed by a misguided seller. Obviously not.
You make a very valid point. Those wonderful sellers, gone now for whatever reason, contributed substantially towards the great presentation many of these stores enjoy today. Be it logos, templates or HTML guidance the young and the restless were accommodated. These helpers were people who bent over backwards to answer questions, give expert advice and share their knowledge for free without discrimination while they were associated with WP and should be given credit where credit is due. And their due does not include being dismissed in such a callous manner. End of rant.
My post was not intended to be insulting to anyone. Since it has been commented on here, I can think of 2 WP sellers who are no longer there that I would consider to be among the best that WP has had so far. Those 2 people would be Diana of Infant Toddler Clothing and Terry of Wake Me Up Before You Logo. Those 2 ladies are not currently on WP as far as I know, and they were definitely among the best. I do think that most of the very best are still there, but that is in no way a put down to anyone who is no longer there. When I'm speaking of the best sellers in my opinion, those are people who really stand out to me for one reason or another, and I don't see most of those people leaving WP. Just so everyone knows, I do not in any way consider myself to be one of the best. If anyone said directly to me, "YOU, Alison, are certainly NOT one of the best sellers to have sold on the WP site", I would fully agree with that statement and would not be the slightest bit offended. It was not intended to be a negative statement, just a personal observation. I stand by it in that I do believe that WP is better off with the seller base that it has now than when there were hundreds of stores with very few items listed (some with only one or two) who weren't even paying their store fees or weren't even completing transactions when items were purchased. I hope this provides a bit more clarity as to what I was trying to say.
:lies2n: :yeahright2: :yeahright2: :poopbanaana: Is there any hope in hell that you have matured enough to once in a while confess that words written by you were ill-chosen, that you could have been wrong, that you might have under or over-stated a point or God forbid, told a little white lie? You are so good at back-peddling without losing momentum that I'm going to redesignate you CCM. Some stores with very few items, one or two items. Take a walk on the wild side and view pages 15 and 14. They are still haunting WP and 50% of them are Ray's ghost stores. You haven't provided one iota of clarity. And it is so disappointing that you cannot show the moxy to at least apologize for the way your words came across - even if they were innocent. Is sorry a five letter dirty word to you?

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Powerseller is just upsets me when I see statements like this that make it seem like every seller who has left WP was not good to begin with. Especially when I know that's not true. Although these sellers left quietly I have talked with some of them and they wish nothing but the best for the sellers who are still there. They hope WP makes it for the sake of the sellers. So it just bugs me when statements like this make it sound like if you left you were not one of the best anyway.
One thing that makes me very sad now is the community at WP don't get me wrong there is still a communtiy and there are still very good people there (I'm still there lol). But it's just not what it once was. First of all many of the sellers who have left lately go quietly. There are a couple of reasons why they do this. One because some of them don't want to do anything to make it bad for the sellers that are still there. You see powerseller they are still thinking of you and me. Another reason that farewell board I don't think anyone will ever post to that again. I think WP in trying to deal with whatever problems they thought they had with the boards have created a bigger problem. I think it's bad for the sellers and I think it's bad for WP. Alot of the sellers don't post or hardly post anymore. They are divided up all over the place posting their thoughts. How does WP or any of the sellers really know what everybody is thinking? You see what I'm saying the community is not a whole anymore. It's split up here there and everywhere. The funny thing is I think most of the sellers have the same opinions about a lot of this stuff. But nobody will ever know that the way it is now. Also WP has no idea what a lot of sellers are thinking because they don't post on WP. If WP knew what a lot of them where thinking they would be doing some things a little differently. |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
PowerSeller,
I have tried to be very fair when assessing your comments. You are obviously very excited about new growth potential at WP. I was there from the beginning. I still have friends there. Many sellers offer quality goods at fair prices with great customer service. That being said, I was one of those sellers in 2006, as was Platzki, Chiquita, YOHB, Alskling, Miranda and many, many others. If I listed all of the names, this would go on forever. Your comment, probably made in enthusiasm, is very offensive to the former sellers. No excuses, but an apology is in order here.
I hate stupid people!
