Quote:Also can one of you ladies tell me do your customers have to register when they want to buy something with your ecrater store? Your customers don't register, they go directly to check out...just like your own website. Also if you should open a redirect site like ours on Live....if you are selling on several sites you can tie it all together.. For instance...you have books on Amazon...have all your book links redirect to Amazon.. If you have bridal items on ecrater have all your redirects for those items go to ecrater. If you have craft items in etsy have all your redirects for those go there. If you have an eBay store or auctions,,,send your redirects for those items to eBay.. All from the same website.....you can branch out to all your other selling locations. Anyone thinking on ecrater should read all the ecrater community pages....tons of great ideas there. Now I still working on that "lady" comment.. Seldom I'm accused of being a lady...usually just a "tough cookie" See you all on Monday.....going away here for a long weekend... Enjoy |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Hello TT'ers - After much re-reading all the help and opinions you guys gave me yesterday, I took the plunge and opened my store. I'm getting my feet wet with just 1 for right now. That's all I can handle. After much thought, I decided to stick with my Nancy's Crafts and Stuff since I have a customer base with that logo/name. The options you guys threw out yesterday were good, but I kept coming back to my customers knowing me via this store title. And speaking of my crafts and craft kits.......yesterday afternoon came home to a large sale of my cross stitch kits - 13 of them! One from one person and 12 from another and half of them were Christmas kits. For some reason, they do sell year round. I know some of you were saying not to list seasonal items until the season, but craft kits are a different ball game as you can see. I still have a lot of work to go to tweak the store, but it's a start and I'm really tired. Everyone have a great evening - C ya! Thanx again.

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Chiquita,
Thanks for adding the quote. it is exactly right the only real way to make any money is to open a web store. None of the auction sites will ever ba able to compete with Ebay. They are at the top of the mountain and noone will ever knock them down but themselves from Greed! I was reading a post on PSU not too long ago and a proffesor of business at some college said something that made alot of sense. He said for anyone to try to even come close to competing with Ebay would need 150 billion dollars and 10 years of work to even try to come close. I may be off on the numbers a bit but it was huge. Like he said the only one that wouldn't have to do this is maybe coca-cola or pepsi someone like it really huge to open auctiuons and people would come other wise it willnever happen. I only hope that after I get my webstore up and running I can get the traffic to get it going. |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Congrats NJR on your sales. Crafting Kits are very popular, no matter what the theme. I don't know what your per item cost is but at Hobby Lobby they are very expensive. Your prices are a deal for any crafter. Good luck with the store too.
Keith the other thing that ebay and many corporations share is they are cash rich. That is why they can so easily buy back their stock when the prices dip. Companies used to take their profits and invest in research and development, which had the effect of creating jobs, and growing the economy. Now they don't reinvest like before, and are holding large cash reserves. I can't remember the amount but ebay has bucks. Ecrater is nice because it isn't like ebay . It doesn't deal with auctions, and even though the store design is uniform, it has a clean look. You don't feel like you are on ebay, or an ebay clone. |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Chiquita,
Thats my biggest problem. I just don't know how to get it out there for the people to see. I went to the section today and posted my URL to all the spots that Ecrater said so I hope this will help. I also chose a name Keithsswordnknife that would automatically be in the top running. Most people who do searches looking swords or knives usually punch those two words in. So I'm hoping this will get me headed in the right direction. |

"Build it and they will come" was chanted all over WP last year for months...
