No updates yet... just a huge thank you for going through this with me. [/quote] Platz, We're there with you now, so many of us. We're on the floor with you beside Dusty, giving what comfort we can to you both. We're sitting beside you on that chair urging you both to stay strong. We're a piece of your heart and we own a portion of your thoughts - because we care. We insist on being a source lending you strength. So many of us have occupied that chair, laid on that floor and endured the agony and uncertainty that you are experiencing so freshly today. Who is better qualified than us to help you through this? Can you feel us there with you? It's cyber love and support in full bloom.
The one thing you can never afford to lose is your temper.

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Ok guys... the vet said he's never seen anythng like the lump that dusty has. This is a massive lump like the size of half of a baseball. He was absolutely in shock. He couldn't believe it. The lump itself is very ugly. He said that the only way to truly tell whats wrong is to do a full range of blood work which would take a few days. He also said that it could be an allergic reaction to the amoxicillin the the other vet prescribed. He did say that his prognosis is not good. He gave us some options. One was pumping him full of cortisone and benedryl which would work if it was an allergic reaction... it woud also work if the tumor was cancerous to alleviate his pain and discomfort temporarily. The lump is causing discomfort and his stomach is tender. He also couldn't hear his heart on the left side (he's laying on his right). He said an allergic reaction 'could' cause fluid in the lungs which could be causing him not to be able to hear his heart. He also made it very clear that an allergic reaction of this magnitude is very rare.
He said, "You have a very sick dog here. Please know that you may have to put him down." We went with the cortisone and will be taking him to the vet tomorrow morning. We decided to see if it was an allergic reaction which would be taken care of with the shots he got. He also said that he feels that the lump is feeding his body with histamines which are basically toxic chemicals. If that's the case, we would probably have to spend a lot of money to make him well. He thinks that with everything that is happening, the lump is the source of the problem. I'm praying we're doig the right thing. I'm going to call the vets voicemail right now and get him in in the morning. The night should show us what decisions should be made. I hope this post made sense. It's going to be a very long night. |
