Poll: Who is to blame for sellers leaving Wagglepop en masse?

The trend of changing venues is changing. Those who covet their 'Floundering Member" status out of a sense of loyalty were mentally committed to sticking with WP but some of those still left are starting to wipe the stardust out of their eyes and rethinking their game plan after months of patience with no return for their devotion.

Newer members aren't showing the same longevity of tolerance because the circumstances are different. They didn't leave eBay under the same emotional drive that many original poppers did. And many of these originals were older people just looking for a friendly spot to plug their wares. They settled in and now don't want to be ousted from the cozy nest they have built. They do not want to acknowledge the fox in the hen house.

The more recent stores to sign up are piloted by a younger crowd. So they are analytically giving their WP store 3 months on average to perform and they are bailing regardless of what could be construed as blood, sweat and tears put into the building of it. They didn't give up - they moved on to greener pastures. The newer sellers signing up and leaving did not show up on WP like the originals did; as the walking wounded from eBay. They seem to be more focused on making a smart business decision. And if within a few months that decision proves to be faulty, they have had no compunction with shuttering the doors on their WP store and moving on.

A certain WP poster keeps harping on the detriment of changing venues. But I think a number of our members here have proven, by successful sales, that change for them was for the good. And that's the other side of this argument.

Here is a very interesting and right on target post I read on PSU. It is addressing all the small alternatives and is really good food for thought.

well, after emailing the made-up site and seeking assistance, I find them non responsive OR rude. If I want fellow PSU'rs to have a heads up about the issues, it SHOULD be interpreted as welcome tips to those that may be experiencing the same problems and thought they were alone - or maybe even seen as a welcome warning sign to the person who was looking for st Elsewhere.

Instead - the small but rowdy group of zealots for that given site will crowd around me and tear me a new one.
So after seeing the treatment someone gets for posting something that SOME members see as "negativity" - I decide to crawl in my corner and keep my mouth shut - cuz free thinking and open debate are not encouraged, in fact those who speak up are shot on sight.

Dont get me wrong - I dont think we should be a forum full of nuthin but negative nellies - and repeat complainers about every site that isnt there own can get tiresome very quick - but instead of encouraging useful information and a place to share thoughts and experiences, it seems the loud minority wants to foster a fanatsy land full of well-wishing positive thinkers and fake candy-coated cheers... I want the facts - as I've said, the good the bad and the ugly

"Anywhere's better than eBay" just isnt gonna fly when the model needs to be functioning. Yes eBay is evil, yes they are oppressive, but do I have to settle for junk bonds? - it reminds me of an expression the subjects of totalitarianism under Stalin would say after he wasnt in power... "At least the trains ran on time"

I don't HAVE to accept certain forms if I don't want too, it's my store and I run things my way, and my customer service should NOT be questioned or insulted like you did in your message to me.

WP doesn't need ppl jumping the gun and attacking other store owners without researching the problem and your comments don't belong on the board period.

Don't send me any personal messages either, I'm not interested in your opinions, as it is you owe me an apology.

Is this guy for real? Temper tantrum is putting it mildly. BTW he is violating PP policy. He can't pick and choose the payments he accepts, and he cannot operate an online business with a personal account. He shouldn't offer paypal period. I wouldn't buy from this guy if he had the last loaf of bread for sale and I was making sandwiches.
