Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Santa Cruz actually shares it border with Santa Clara. They are very small counties (Santa Cruz being the smallest in the state) and in a state as large and as mobile as California, this is significant. When I lived in Orange County (over twice the size of Santa Cruz), I drove to Riverside, LA, and San Diego Counties nearly every day to visit friends, and visa verse. The fact that this seller's listings are "private" is a flag in itself. Personally, I don't deal with sellers or buyers who have "private" feedback or "private" listings.
Also, interesting that the number one lister lives in the same small county as the above mentioned "private" soap seller and that the sellers for the three REMAINING showcase stores all live in the same county and that two of the "big sellers" on WP not only live in the same country as the showcase stores but the same street and largely account for each others' WP sales. I'd hate to think where I'd be if I had to rely on my neighbor to pay my bills. Nothing changes the fact that WP is, was, and always will be, an absolute rip-off for any serious seller. As WP fades, it is bound to distill into more incestuous dealings. It's not a crime to simply ADMIT, for once, PS, that you're not making money on WP? What makes you incredible to us, and why you become a target, is your incomprehensible defense of the non-defendable. The cult of WP is like the Flat Earth Society. Despite all evidence to the contary, members of the Flat Earth Society still hold the unwavering conviction that the Earth is flat. Fortunately, members of the FES do not rely on this conviction for their livelihoods, nor do they try to dupe others into believing this BS. How many more innocent sellers are you going to try to "convince" to join WP as the "best eBay alternative", by bragging about your "sales", etc., when all evidence points to the contrary? How many more sellers will have to waste their time before WP finally melts into the black hole of cyberspace? Not that Ray much cares, since he's collecting store fees every month from existing WP suckers and a smathering of "toe testers" each month for doing absolutely nothing. This picture doesn't make sense. Seriously, PS, what's in it for you? |

Seriously. Myself and a good number of other sellers make plenty of money on Wagglepop and genuinely appreciate what the site has to offer. Get over it. If you appreciate what the site has to offer, sell there. If you don't, don't sell there. End of story.

Quote:I noticed another "first-pager" has a closing message in their description. Interestingly enough, this is the link when you hover over the store name: Link doesn't work, so I guess he really did close or "someone" de-activated the link. Don't remember the name of the store, but last I checked it showed a couple thousand listings. |

Just one of the many "benefits" of selling listing on WP that I (impatient, disloyal, retarded, seller in the beginning stages of Alzheimer's) simply failed to appreciate. |

Shows total 49 FBs (big whoop!), 20 unique from buyers. No evidence of sales in over 30 days. 4 FBs in the past 6 months (gee, I'm impressed). Had a showcase store for some time, as I recall. Over 1400 items currently listed on WP, averaging around $30. IMHO, definitely nothing to write home to mom about. Oh, and one of her buyers was our dear friend and disenfranchised WP cheerleader-- Mr. Kumbaya. |

Quote:Of course, this months $300 worth of sales cant even begin to compare to the $3,000 I was averaging every month on eBay back in 05 and early 06. But it covers the Wagglepop fees. It covers the fees but does it cover your living expenses? I know that I couldn't survive a 90% drop in income.

She's an admitted "hobby seller": Quote:The Husband and I enjoy fairly traditional roles (at least outwardly) in that he makes the money and I spend it. He balances the checkbooks, pays the bills, and knows how much we have and where it is. I venture to guess that more than 95% of the sellers on Wagglepop fit this category. Again (before PS or the like come a-bashing) - there is NOTHING wrong with being a dabbler or hobby seller. If you aren't LIVING on your income derived from your internet business(es), then you are trying to compare apples to oranges. Geesh... excited over 6 sales in a month? I'm hurting if I get only 6 sales a DAY!
