Auction Site Wagglepop Triples Fees, Requires Prepayment
2 relevant quotes from PSU:
Quote:The "break even" point in sales between the older rate table and the new extra $20/month is a little hard to pinpoint as the percentage fluctuates so widely when brackets are used. However, I converted the fee brackets into percentage ranges and looked it over closely. I estimate the "break even" as in the area of $800-1000/month in sales, depending on the size of individual sales Quote:On to the prices. They are going to triple the cost for having a store on WP and remove Final Value Fees. I have noticed that the sales on WP would not add up to 20 dollars per month for 90 percent of the sellers on WP and they are the ones who will be affected the most.http://www.powersellersunite.com/viewtopic.php?t=18689 The number of posts in the fee increase announcement thread on the WP boards has declined by 4 since I woke up a few hours ago but Ray has yet to get to this new post by a Founding Member: Quote:...gotta say that I don't think I can make it here under the new fee structure. While I have good months here and there, most of the time, I rarely make enough to even pay the $9.95... |

WP's nameservers have been down for almost 2 hours-i.e. the site is unreachable. This follows yesterday afternoon's 4 hour outage. Good job Ray...

WP appears to be down again. Is AndRay, KaRay trying to stem the flow of deserters?

Why would WP be down AGAIN?! It must be an "upstream" problem. Speaking of upstream...it sure sounds fishy
to me. |

WP back up again.
A seller asks to keep their feedback earned when/if they close shop and open a new account. Another seller chimes in in agreement asking it be grandfathered or transferred to the new buyer account. Survey says.... Quote:wagglepopCC2 03 May 2008 17:56 Another form of holding feedback as ransom and punishing the disillusioned. This conman could teach eBay some new tricks.

edit again, I'm taking bets on how long this post lasts Quote:Can anyone tell me why Wagglepop was down again this morning for several hours?[/quote] A seller responded to her: Quote:I believe the reason the site was down yesterday was because of bad weather. Which is understandable. Maybe that was the reason for this morning too? tolensmiley: tolensmiley: tolensmiley: PS Poppers A. bad weather doesn't effect data centers or the data center's peering partners (upstream providers) either; B. WP's server is located in a data center about 2 miles from me in lower Manhattan and there hasn't been any bad weather the past few days. |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
WP's nameservers, not the WP server itself, have been the problem the past 2 days. The problem is probably due to a DNS configuration error on the part of the dimwits at RScript or Ezzi. A reverse DNS lookup of the IP address of the ns2.wagglepop.com nameserver is returning gogoviz01.gogoviz.net instead of the 66-199-236-122.reverse.ezzi.net hostname that it used to return.
http://www.robtex.com/dns/ns2.wagglepop.com.html http://www.robtex.com/ip/66.199.236.122.html FYI- gogoviz.net is a UK/US marketplace (based out of Blackpool) that also uses RScript

Never argue with an idiot they drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.
