Edit: Funny the thought never occured to Ray to use the money to market the site to attract BUYERS for the existing "long haul", loyal poopers, instead of more sellers to dilute the seller base on the already thinly-visited site. Could it possibly be that Ray was more interested in lining his pocket with monthly dues than bringing traffic to the site? Nah.

It is so frustrating that a certain WP cheerleader doesn't get that.  That at no time did WP try to get buyers... only sellers.  Her argument is, was and will always be... "Why bring buyers to an empty site?  We need sellers to fill the shelves first!"

NO!  Both things have to happen at the same time!

I remember when I was still selling there.  I was so frustrated by a post that Karen made that said something like, "we don't want buyers coming here and putting items into the search bar and coming up with nothing."

Huh?  At the time, I felt she was saying, "We don't want buyers coming here.  Just sellers to pay the monthly fee."

And, as I recall, when KaRay made that statement WP had way MORE listings in VARIOUS categories and hundreds more sellers. Another example of the "visionary" business wisdom of WP and how well it works.

There's a saying about the mental stability of those who do the same thing over and over expecting a different result. Um WP1, WP2 the Grand Opening, WP2 the Grand re(Opening), WP "market share" . . . .

I KNOW that there is one site in particular that I know to be far more effective than any other site that I have used over the years.

2008 sales out of the Wagglepop store have ranged from $1200. to $2000. each month.

Sneaky is confused.    PowerNimrod thinks Wagglepoop is the most effective site because her WP sales average 33%-60% LESS per month than she used to sell at Ebay?

Yes, I always wondered about that, too. And I don't recall her spamming 20/7 like an army at Hormel for eBay or linking every known blog in the universe to her eBay store.

I don't know what else to do, I think I have done the best I know how but since Feb I have only made a dozen or so low end sales.

Here are some helpful suggestions:

(1) Spam every blog in the universe and sing the praises of WP. Some disgruntled X-Poppers may try to challenge you, but being that they're just trolls, naysayers, morally bankrupt miscreants, dillusional psychotics, deadbeats, jealous types, senile old ladies, and infiltrators nobody will take them seriously.

(2) Exalt your leader and smooch his behind (extremely important). If you're really good at it, he might let you into his exclusive disciple circle and annoint you with special "secret" perks. OOooooo.

(3) Add click-thrus to competitors to get their ad revenue (especially on listings with over-priced products, since these won't be selling anyway)

(4) Get your family and friends to join WP and buy stuff from you that you would normally send to them as gifts (you can reimburse them later). Of course, you can also register again under a buying ID and buy stuff from yourself and avoid shipping and handling charges.

(5) Sponsor listing contests and give away penny auctions as prizes. So what if you don't make any money. You can legitimately go to all the blogs and say you sold a ton of items and you can pump up your feedback to boot. Horay!

(6) Above all, NEVER let on that you're discouraged (especially on the WP boards), and ALWAYS blame yourself for your lack of performance and inability to live up to the high standards WP has set for you. Be a trouper and keep beating your head against the wall -- after a while you'll pleasantly discover that it starts to feel good. Or, if you're on a fast-track, go in for a lobotomy.
