The end is near. The boards are filled with discontent. The long-haulers are transferring all their listings to eBay. And Ray has definitely given up. No rah-rah speeches, no Kool-aid, no promises of things to come, NOTHING, NADA, ZILTCH, ZIPPO, SQUAT -- he's even given up on policing the boards. If WP is alive in June, I'll eat my knickers. [/quote] Get your fork and knife out DB!! You should have said July. LOL!!! |

The only reason Ray's keeping the lights on in June is to self-promote that the site's for sale. I can't imagine why any knit-wit would want it, but Ray certainly wouldn't give up the opportunity to make a buck if he can. |

Quote:"Turnkey" wagglepop.com auction site (1 and 2 above) on existing server @ $40,000 There goes my next business venture. I only saved up $39K to buy the site. :'( Good luck getting $40 Ray. A site is only as good as it's reputation, and Wagglepop's reputation is worth less than that. There are 19 paying stores. Maybe they can come up with $2000 each and buy it. That way they can keep the fuzzy shiny forum going.

Quote:We will be keeping both accounts payable and receivableWorth $800/month, minus $1500 operating expenses, for 3 years is a grand total of -25000 in value. Quote:the LLCWorth the $200 LLC license fee, minus the $2000 accounting fee to figure out why the site costs $1500/month to run from a basement in your boxers. Quote:and the current trademarked logo.I could use the freebie Microsoft "Paint" for my own Red and Blue text logo. : So Ray, it seems like you should pay someone $26,800 to take the site off your hands before you burn all the cash to keep WP alive for affiliate use. You're dumb enough to keep your dedicated server for $47/month in Amazon revenue. :lol16n: P.S. We should all send our condolences to the few, proud poppers who stuck it out for the "long haul" while business built to a whopping 5 monthly sales in 3 years.Excuse me, I have many orders to get filled from my non-Wagglepop presence. :raypoop:

Quote:We will be keeping both accounts payable and receivable, the LLC and the current trademarked logo. The trademark covers the use of "wagglepop" for online auction services. I'm assuming that his reason for keeping the trademark is because he plans to charge any new owner a licensing fee for the use of the trademarked name....so the asking price for WP is probably really $40K + licensing fee. Quote:I'm assuming that his reason for keeping the trademark is because he plans to charge any new owner a licensing fee for the use of the trademarked name....so the asking price for WP is probably really $40K + licensing fee. He had 20 sellers willing to give him $800/month, with little labor involved and low costs (regardless of what he says) and he's really going to shut it down? The most expensive server package his host sells is $200. Therefore, he is a complete liar to say the server is $379. If he lied about that, he lied about everything else. The koolaid spilled, and he's got to change the guy pouring it now. There will be a new personality emerging at Wagglepop in the next few weeks. A new owner who will dynamically "shake up" the site. You know him well, but you know him, as AndKaRay. Be on the lookout for a $10/month fee structure and removal of the free stores for 2009. Ray can't do it as long as he is the owner. But a new owner can set a lower store rate, and be perceived a little better than Ray would for cutting off the promotion. The new owner will advertise (spam) PSU, Pheebay, OSU, Selling Lounge, and any other site in earshot of rinky dink auction site sellers that Wagglepop is under new ownership. As the new owner, AndKaRay will get a couple new features (Google Checkout, instant checkout) available from other RScript site owners that can program Perl and spent more time and money on their FREE site than he did on Wagglepop. Of course, as a new owner he can convince them to sell it to him. The forums will once again expand, allowing fun filled fuzzy chatter among the residents of the compound with their new leader. Look for the dawning of a new day at Wagglepop. They will climb the ranks of never-be-eBay sites again. But, I could be wrong.

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Quote:Look for a new day at Wagglepop XWPOPPER, If WP were any other venue I might be inclined to agree, but just the name "Wagglepop" strikes fear and loathing in the hearts of thousands in lands near and far. Wagglepop could rise like a Phoenix from the ashes, but it would still stink just as high to pollute the air and suffocate all within beathing-shot. Notice the reception given to the glorious announcement some days ago, proclaiming the site was for sale -- not ONE response. No, this time Ray REALLY shot himself in the foot. On all other occasions he whined and nasty kangarooed like a baby and all the Koolaid-drugged long-haulers rallied to his aid. It was one pathetic pity play after another. Well, he played out his cards until the only one left was the ultimate whine -- 'I'M SHUTTING IT DOWN'. Three years of crying "wolf" but this time none is rallying to his rescue. Nobody believes in him or his crapola any more. He could magically "sell" the site to an alter-ego called "LIttle Miss Goodie Two-Shoes" and still his crapola-stained hands would be all over the name and its reputation. No. I think Ray's done this time. Goodby WP1 -- "We hardly knew ya." Goodby WP2 -- "We're sorry we ever knew ya." |

Wagglepop's top lister isn't moving his 18,765 listings to eBay or another rinky dink, he'll be conducting all of his future business from a Yahoo email account. :
Quote:Sadly, the entire Wagglepop website will be closing soon unless a buyer for the site is found.
