Yahoo Japan teams up with JR East to offer online payments to auction users

Yahoo Japan is teaming up with JR East to allow users of the Yahoo Japan portal and Yahoo Japan Auctions to make online payments with a new joint credit card.

Quote:Yahoo Japan Corp., which operates the country's most-visited Web portal, and East Japan Railway Co., have allied to let customers use the railroad's Suica card to pay for online purchases.

The companies will also offer a joint credit card that, like the Suica debit card, can be used to pay for items bought through Yahoo Japan online auctions or other locations on the company's portal, the companies said at a press conference today in Tokyo...
