Yahoo has redone their 99 cents showcase listings:

The Top Seller showcase contains a sampling of items from Top Sellers highlighted on the front page of Y! Auctions.

The 99¢ Showcase is for items from Top Sellers that are priced under a dollar with no reserve, and is also highlighted on the front page.

To become a top-rated seller, build up your overall rating by maintaining a high rate of items sold and a high level of customer satisfaction. You can increase your rating by encouraging other users to rate you after successfully completing the transaction. For further details about the Yahoo! Auctions Ratings, please visit our help page.

The new "Top Seller" ranking is apparently based on feedback. Yahoo also has a "Premium Sellers" ranking which is based on sales--you need to average at least $1,667 over a 3 month period to qualify for a Premium Sellers icon

....a seller with sales of $1,667 monthly on the free Yahoo is probably equivalent to a gold ebay power seller when you consider that after fees the ebay gold power seller is lucky to make $100 Laughing4

Only because it and Overstock are the only US auction sites besides eBay that actually have buyers (I don't count the "sellers buying from other sellers to keep their spirits up" sales that take place on other auction sites as proof of real "buyers"). Over the past few years its been good for 150-250 yearly sales for us...and now its free. Smile

The auction site itself probably has almost as many glitches as eBay (mainly when trying to list items) , and after a few years of selling there I'm convinced the site is run by robots and doesn't have any actual human employees...I can't even name one Yahoo Auctions employee after all this time ;D

Hmmmmm
As much as I LOVE AMAZON, the auction area stinks. Amazon Marketplace is great, but I'm looking for another auction site...

We list toy cars and postcards on Amazon Auctions year round--Holiday shopping during November and December is great, 42 sales last year, the rest of the year 1 or 2 monthly sales at best.

Maybe I will give Amazon auctions a shot during the holidays. If bidders get all worked up, I may do okay unloading a few things.

Amazon Marketplace and zShops are pretty great. Lots of eyeballs and sales. I think the auctions may stink because there isn't a lot of advertising and such. Just a guess.

Do you get many feedbacks from your sales? I don't at all!

I think I have about 23 feedback comments - but I've been selling quite a bit of stuff, and get emails from customers thanking me and the such. I think they have no idea about feedback, or where to click to leave it.

That's fine with me . . . I've yet to have someone try to extort products out of me with feedback threats over there.

However, on eBay, about every month I have some brain surgeon say "I'm not paying, but if you don't send the product then I'm going to leave nasty feedback." Anybody else get these idjits?

Yuck ... I haven't had that happen before. My recent irritation though was with getting a negative feedback from someone who thought she had ordered curtins from me. I remember her now from some of her advance questions, and I guess I didn't pay attention when she finally ordered anyway, even after I had told her several times that I don't sell curtins. So maybe that's why all of the CD's "never got there." She probably thought they were an AOL offers and tossed them.
