Sheesh. Encouraging board spamming?

The only thing I have to say about this is---at least they ADMIT they're looking for boards to "adverstise on." LOL.

Hibidder's reporting of other sellers posts on the eBay boards is what annoys me more than the spamming...that and the similarities between WP Ray and HB Rich.

HB's owner Rich was briefly a moderator on ecommercearena (like Ray) and put on the charm to get users there to sign up (like Ray).  Reading the Locked thread over there is a lot like reading FAS WP1 threads...especially the part where HB Rich blows up when asked some serious questions (like Ray)

Hibidder/Rich on January 12, 2006 Wrote:With all do respect. Perhaps you should reconsider your membership on the site. I have not absolved myself of the sites responsibility at all. Members have asked for specific things and I do my best to accomodate the requests in a timely manner.

We all have other endeavors etc. that we are responsible for.
In fact, this site is My Hobby which I take seriously. By Hobby, I mean that this isn't and was never intended to be a money maker in any way, shape or form.

In addition, the site has a 'contact us' form for anyone to use (no login required) if a user/member is having difficulty in any area with regards to the site. Your remarks should be directed to the site using this form instead of this wonderful community........

I'm not a "one man show" as you put it. I have plenty of things in the works that I'll not discuss here. I'll post them on the site which is the way it should be done.

With regards to your statement, (having a Coder is nice, but obviously he is your tech man and nothing more) you are something else, assuming "he" is my tech man. I believe he would take exception to that because "She" is much, much more in many respects. You couldn't possibly know .....so don't assume until you do.

Oh well, this is taking valuable time away from the other users wants and needs. I'll not respond to this thread any longer. If anyone has an issue regarding HiBidder.com, please feel free to contact me through the site at any time.

"thanks twat u must have nothing better 2 do. do u talk to all your members like that. will not be recomending your site.
best way to put it is TULIPTOOLS.COM IS REALLY SHIT. DONT JOIN." -pubescent owner of rinky dink off2auction.com in 2011

Somebody slipped carbon paper in between these guys.

I have a question for all. Why is it that so many small-time auction people are super-duper sensitive, defensive, and psycho about any and all things related to their sites? Is it because most of them suck? Or because most of them suck, but the owners don't know it?

You'd think some of these sellers and owners were romantically involved with the thing.  Wink

Edited to add: At least Ray has a better grasp of spelling and grammar than Rich. LOL.

I'm thinking that people who recreate old ideas (such as auctions out of the box) aren't generally very creative. Creative and innovative people tend to be more open-minded to input, and can expand on them, while people who simply clone other folks' ideas generally have too little power. It's a control issue.

Actually Ray and Rich are clones. They are part of the Raelians cult. They are now mass cloning PHPpro sites and owners....RUN FOREST RUN!!!

RE: HiBidder Database Implodes, 95% of Listings Lost
thentavius, you hit it on the head. Most of these small time auction vendors suck. I bet they swallow, too. As landofsmiles points out, they're generally not very creative. Snap some mods on a site, hang up a logo and spam...er...I mean market the site and call it a business. Genius. Absolute cutting edge genius.

If there were a frickin' brain between the whole lot of them, they would know that they're all fighting for the lousy 25% market share that auction sales represent. They would quickly realize that to be successful, doing what's already been done (by eBay) is not going to be done better by anyone. What's needed is something new that goes after the 75% of the marketshare that does not regularly shop auctions.

UBC BD, I'm right behind you. Runnin' as fast as my PB legs can carry me away from the horrible mass cloning! Every week, 2 - 3 "new" sites pop-up. I just wanna' say

Hey, bargainbloodhound, thanks for the follow up post on the "sucks" sites! You're too funny!! eBay hasn't been able to do diddly about eBaySucks or PayPalSucks, and they have a gajillion dollars. Long as I don't totally potty mouth and threaten these pathetic loosers, ain't squat they can do about it.

landofsmiles, Anita, xuppman...y'all live in the San Fernando Valley?

Quote:Y'all may or may not know that there's a thread devoted almost exclusively to posting HB stats over at PSU. The stats, taken day by day, give the appearance that the site is actually growing. It is not.

The stats give the appearance (to me) of a site with very few sales and no traffic.  The latest 24 hour figures: 13 sales totalling $134.  The HB stats showed 8 people online - TT has 22 online right now    ;D

Quote:what's already been done (by eBay) is not going to be done better by anyone.

It won't be done by a site like HiBidder that spent a measly $200 for their GENERIC phpProBid auction script and copies what has been done before.
