One seller recommends:

Quote:1000 sellers with a $25,000 war chest, a plan of action and an attitude will make a lot more happen than our constant pleading to a deaf eBay management.

The alliance discussion again. Never happen.

I added my two cents to thread, too.

Hey--who can take the guy seriosuly, anyway? He's a fountain of cliches.[/quote]

Too true. The poor guy keeps trying but most of these sellers don't WANT an alliance and couldn't stick together on anything if there was one. They don't even KNOW what is in their best interest.  Tard

Wow! The first post I felt like responding to in a while! LOL

The stores format is the most successful web store presence ever built on the internet. That is nothing to sneeze at.

ROTFLMFAO at that statement Marty. Pray tell, would you be spewing that same BS line (which is total BS) if a large portion of your revenues weren't dependent on teaching eBay classes...which of course entails suckering people into signing up, and remaining on eBay?

eBay Stores rank near last in features when compared to other hosted stores platforms like Volusion, MonsterCommerce, or even ShopPal (which FYI, is cheaper than eBay Stores when you add in eBay's bloated listing/FVF fees and is almost as easy to setup as an eBay store).

Telling people to rely on eBay for the majority of their business (as you continually do) is just plain dumb Marty and definitely isn't a way to either help people build long-term online businesses or to help people shed their day jobs and become full-time online sellers. Has a total reliance on eBay allowed YOU to give up the day job--if it hasn't, why do you continually mislead people by giving advice that you know from experience doesn't work?

Most people need to hang in there.

Most people need to start diversifying beyond eBay so the next time eBay raises fees or makes a policy change (like removing SIF from search) the sting will me minimal.

If you have a website and you're using it to send people to your eBay Store to get a referral credit you're doing things backwards. You should be using eBay to drive people to your website where you don't pay listing fees or FVFs.

If you're using search engines, or Squidoo, or MySpace, to drive people to your eBay store there is absolutely no reason you can't drive those same people to your own website (despite what members of eBay's Voices program and Educator program spew on these boards) Smile
