Re: Customizing Content Management Systems
Thanks Jen and BBH. More food for thought.
I'm wondering, if in light of the band's needs, I should just forgo the CMS and stick to FTPing all edits and changes. I like the options, features and ease of use of a CMS but the band is very enamored with the cleaness and artistic look of their home page and doesn't want changes made to their layout or colors. The only change to the layout that I have been able to get them to agree to is a bottom navigation menu. They don't want a side navigation menu and all of the free Joomla templates I have been able to find have side navigation. |

Quote:Unlike some other ecommerce discussion boards where it is praised like it is liquid gold. Not naming names but ANYOLDCARDS ON ECOMMERCEARENA loves it. :twistedevil: The thing that really scares me is the people who install the Joomla store/shopping cart mod (VirtueMart). That is just asking for trouble...and no, I would never feel safe giving my info to any Joomla/Virtue store. Speaking of which, VirtueMart currently has an unpatched cross-site scripting vulnerability (issued on 9/29). [/quote] "Not naming names" of who uses the security nightmare combo of Joomla and VirtueMart, but: Quote:PSU Stores is built using a combination of Joomla! and Virtuemart. |
