Quote:I think I still have her album in vinyl. ALL of my first albums were Motown. I don't think I ever heard any Motown soul that I didn't love. |

When the rest of the country was listening to the Beatles, it was Motown all the way here.

Re: What is your musical "guilty pleasure"?
My first 45's were actually bought for me: Rumplestiltskin and Gene Autry's *Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer*.
Still have 'em, too! |

Re: What is your musical "guilty pleasure"?
(by guilty pleasure, I assume we're sharing songs we're kind of embarrassed to like--since they go against our usual tastes? Or other people might poke fun at them?).
I like Herbie Hancock's Future Shock LP, with "Rockit." The first all-electronica album ever produced (in the 70s). Lots of cheesy turntable scratching, but some really cool and innovative stuff on there, too. It would probably kill most teenagers. The Monkees. Most especially the stuff that was NOT on TV (some artsy type of stuff). I have several CDs of Rag music that other people think is totally cornball. I like it. LOL. (and the most embarrasing of all--somewhere inside I like STYX). Edited to add: I once caught part of a Britney Spears almost-electronica type song on the radio and thought, "hey--this is pretty good? Who's this?" D'oh!
