Quote:There is another snow storm heading here this weekend. It has also been so cold that it will take a long time for this snow to melt. I know... I knocked snow off the Arizona Cypress you all saw in the image. The bottom branches were bent and almost broken. They're still drooping, even without snow on them. We tried to go to petsmart today, but everyone was driving and acting like such a$$holes, we went to Albertson's again and bought Iams there. We couldn't even find parking at Petsmart that wasn't black ice (and everyone was forcing other people out of the way to get the good spaces). What did you think of that Sandia Crest pic, Chiquita? Did you get to see it when it looked that way on New Year's Eve??

Re: Winter Storm 12.29-12.31 New Mexico
Thentavius,
What a great picture. Now that freezing fog was a trip. My oldest son actually had been up in the heights on New Years Eve, in a Jeep mind you and was spinning out. He came home and spent it with us, so you know the weather sucked. ;D He got home right before it really started rolling in at our house. All your pictures are great. I wanted to take one of my evergreens, and the neighbors tree, but the rechargable batteries in my digital camera were dead. We went out into town today for the first time. All the retail parking lots were still a sheet of ice. I am glad they cancelled school for tomorrow. The schools we drove by today still hadn't even plowed out their parking lots for the buses yet alone all the side streets. |

Re: Winter Storm 12.29-12.31 New Mexico
I just discovered this thread. Here's some pix I took around my house -- views from my front yard, back yard, icicles on the neighbor's house. I was the only one in the area with a snow shovel. Needless to say, I kept myself busy... we got 16" -- that's not including what melted on Friday before it started sticking...
Below freezing - still - during the daytime. Down to 5[sup]o[/sup] at nite.... Whoo! Look at all the snow on the outside table and chairs. It looks like a cake.

We're at 19 degrees F right now. Supposed to get a little colder tonight. Tomorrow's high is supposed to be 38.

I'm jealous!
SE Nebraska winters have been pretty pathetic the past several years... I'm a snow dog! |
