Should Digg be included in Google search results
2 opposing viewpoints on whether Digg listings should be included in Google search results:
Quote:I just do not understand why Digg shows up in searches on Google. Don't get me wrong. I think Digg is a good service and provides many sites with a good bit of traffic. For example, TechCrunch reported that 80% of the traffic to the site comes from Digg. (reported by Arrington in September 2006) full article: http://www.centernetworks.com/wtf-dept-w...ch-results Quote:This raises another question Should Digg.com and other human maintained directories (social bookmarking sites in particular) start to really push and develop their search feature(s) to be a viable alternative to the existing search engine giants such as Google and Yahoo? Ill leave that one for another blog post... full article: http://www.techulate.com/why-digg-is-and...results-30 followup article: http://www.techulate.com/a-follow-up-to-...results-51 |

Quote:Should Digg be included in Google search results IMO, no. Nor should other social networking sites. When I search, I don't want to see results that require extra steps in order to access the info. It is annoying, damn it! |

As it is now, Technorati's link to my blog places higher than my blog. :blinkie: |
