EBay explains why it pulled Britney Spears' bra from auction
Quote:What happened to Britney Spears' bra?
One of the many items Britney Spears was offering in a charity auction on eBay was her jewel-encrusted bra from the "Toxic" video. Then, that listing disappeared.

According to eBay spokesman Hani Durzy, it fell into a forbidden category. He says one of eBay's policies is that it does not list used undergarments

...... He says the item probably should not have been listed in the bra category, but as an entertainment collectible.

Oh please! if that was true then when you query:  used bra
nothing should come up but look at how many are listed as a used bra - 4 pages worth and the ones I checked were listed in the bra section.  If they are going to pull Brittney's bra for being listed in the bra section as used then they should pull the rest of them and not single her's out.

I know, they only act on the ones people actually complain about but in these case since it hit the newspapers they should have gone through their site and pulled the rest because it's showing that she's being singled out.

My theory is that Kylie Minogue reported her because she was upset that people were willing to bid 3X more for Britney's bra than they were for hers.  Laughing7

£5,100 BID FOR KYLIE'S EBAY BRA

KYLIE Minogue's bra was up to £5,100 on eBay last night as a bidding war broke out.

Ha! That's funny - could very well be.

Well, it looks like it is back and guess what - in the bra section again.  If they put it back in the same section eBay had a problem with I'm now wondering if this is the real thing:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5431691133

It was listed last night at 17:14:09 PDT with a starting bid of $0.99 US and is already at US $33,100.00.

Let's see if this one gets pulled.

I can't believe its being sold by that seller: 16429 negatives and an 88.3% feedback rating.    :Smile

this from the questions section of the listing:

Quote:Q: Why did your first posting of this have to be pulled? Thanks Steve (eBay user xxx-xxx)
Oct-05-05
A: A judgment call, originally made by eBay, was later reviewed by their executives and reversed. They have since re-listed the auction and will be contacting all the previous bidders to invite them to bid once more. We are sorry for this unexpected inconvenience. We have been assured by eBay that there will be no further issues.

Amazing:

And the ones I checked for the negatives that this seller dished out to his/her buyers were retaliation negative feedbacks after the buyer left them a negative.

I watch that seller from time to time.  Boredom I guess.  I find it amazing that anyone buys ANYTHING from him/her.

I also get a kick out of how the seller mentions their wonderful feedback AND how they are rated number 5 with eBay.  THAT is great publicity for eBay.  Not!

I love this part of their FAQ

Quote:When rating our experience with the buyer we always take into account how that buyer conducted themselves when posting feedback to our account

In other words, expect a retaliatory negative.
