You're invited to the Grand Re-Opening of Wagglepoop!

Everyone receiving this invitation is one of the thousands of people who showed interest in and support for our desire to provide a real and lasting online auction alternative.

As many of you know, we made just about every mistake possible during our first launch, and the original Wagglepoop was closed just a week after its initial debut.

On a personal note, I cannot express enough how deeply saddened I was at that time by our inability to provide what so many of you had supported, and what we had promised. The many supportive emails we received subsequent to our closing served not only to punctuate our belief that an online auction alternative was needed, but that our resolve to accomplish such a task needed to be stronger and more dedicated.

Ultimately, as founder of Wagglepoop, I accept all responsibility for the failure of our initial attempt. I also offer my sincerest apology to all who supported us, promoted us, and believed in us. Not a single day has gone by since that I have not worked to honor your faith in the idea of Wagglepop, and to bring a new version to market that is everything you expect and deserve.

This invitation and the new version of Wagglepoop are the fulfillment of that promise from a little over one year ago.

We are confident we have made all of the adjustments necessary to provide a viable alternative marketplace by consulting and contracting with industry experts in both the hardware and software departments, and feel confident that we have created a site that is not only viable, but offers some exciting and innovative features not found anywhere else.

Features like the Red Carpet Customer Program, Buy More Now, DynamicDiscounts, and Wagglepoop Stores featuring BusinessBuilder are just a few of the features or ideas that we think can help change the ways in which buyers and sellers trade, and build relationships.

We think you'll find Wagglepoop to be familiar in the ways that you've come to like and expect, yet fresh and exciting in the ways that count most.

The new Wagglepoop is a 100% trust-based community, and requires no financial information to participate as a seller or buyer.

We would be honored if you would visit us at www.wagglepoop.com to learn more about Wagglepoop, and further honored to have you as a member.

Wagglepoop is for everyone who believed, and believes still, that it is possible to take a stand, and make a difference.

Together, we can change everything.

- Raymond M. Romeo

I saw that. Personally, I'm out of the online auction biz but I wish Ray the best of luck second time around. See you at Wagglepop Live, Anita!

I was STUNNED to have received that e-mail.  I hadn't even heard any rumors!  I thought it was a spoof.

How did I know?  I just knew that bozo was going to come back and try and reopen.  Can you spell doorknob?

I never registered there - The only times I ever posted about the site (that I can recall) is to put down that down site and it's owner so how he got my email address I have no idea, probably bought it off someone else and he considers that interest and support in the site?  Gee, if I were him I wouldn't have wanted the kind of so called "interest and support" I was posting on various boards.

Yes, I got that email and quickly added him to my filters so that I doing have to see that disgusting pig in my inbox again.

Todd was right that something was up. He emailed  me a few months ago to say that he was getting  an authorization required password box when he tried to access the Wagglepop domain and thought something was up because it pointed towards an auction on the cgi-bin rather than the old Windows auction path   :blinkie:

For your information, the new Wagglepop is using RScript: http://www.rscript.com/demo/Auction

Maybe it is old age, but it doesn't bother me one way or another if he opens up again.  I really didn't keep up with all the hoopla the first time around.

I've been trying to register for the last half hour.  I'm still waiting for an e-mail containing my registration code.

I just want to check it out....  ;)

a quick dns lookup shows that the domain is registered by proxy, which is usually a sign of a scam, but last time 'round ray said there were death threats, etc. and if he's using home address rather than a business address, would make sense to do by proxy. course, one could just as easily rent a box at a Mailboxes Etc. but, we saw where that got greenzap - addy of a mailbox at a ralph's grocery store - lol!

domain is registered until 2011, which is a good sign (as far as scam vs. non-scam and his wanting to make it work)

"consulting and contracting with industry experts in both the hardware and software department" might be a bit of a exagerration(sp?) but not a flat out lie.  he did 'contract' with some supposed experts in online auction software (insert a little bit of tongue-in-cheek)  :)

i think i'll just sit back and pop some popcorn and watch the show  ;)

a quick dns lookup

An ownership lookup of their IP is showing they're hosted by ezzi.net which is also RScript's host.  The RScript auction script has become a favorite of small auction site owners over the past 6-9 months.

I noticed it, but after the last fiasco I didn't believe he'd actually reopen using the same name...or reopen period for that matter

I think I need a bath...

And he's already off to a bad start this time around by spamming people. He wants to get the word out there are other way, not by spamming people who didn't even register on his site (like me).

Well duh...who else does he think could take responsibility?

Well he can start changing one thing - stop spamming!!!!!
