Well I've got the Zen cart sitting in a file now to upload.
I do need to up load the program to MySQL data base on TT
per the instructions (from ZEN) before starting to play with it right?
(Once I'm signed-up at TT and have access to FTP I mean)

Yep Zen requires a MYSQL database.  We should have the modified ZenCart version finished in a few days (it will have search engine friendly URLs and several other enhancements including a spreadsheet bulklister, GoogleBase/Froogle file generation and uploads, RSS feeds, etc.).

I the payment module section of the Zen demo.
I don't see an option for Linkpoint Connect or Linkpoint API.

Wonder why Linkpoint is not included?
Do you all have a mod for that comming out?

If not I think Cube cart does.

The one with mods/many more added features will be ready by next week...hopefully by Tuesday.  You can play with a basic Zen without any modifications here (both front end and admin demos): http://opensourcecms.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=300&Itemid=159

There's a mod for Linkpoint.  We used Linkpoint with Zen until we switched to Authorize.net .

That's weird because the demo I'm looking at shows these below
under payment modules.

Authorize.net
Authorize.net (AIM)
Credit Card
Cash on Delivery
The Zen Cart FREE CHARGE CARD
Check/Money Order
Paypal IPN

Duh... I bet your saying a "MOD" as in "modification" (code)
can be made or is in included in your ZEN MODS
we can use to call up LP Connect or API..

Right?   ;D

Hippie:
It's under Modules at the top then a drop down shows "payments".

I'm still going tell you that Mal's FREE side
is fast and easy to set up if you are just doing PP and GP
to accept payments for a quick temporary cart solution until you can get ZEN up and going.

After all the whole idea is to get out there and make money not
spend 6 months preparing to make money.
You will be left in the dust if you take the latter approach.

When I started some 7 years ago I didn't start with a 50 page site packed w stuff and a 400.00 a year fancy cart. I actually had peeps buying from ME on Yahoo Geocites FREE site
paying via Check and MO then I added PP buttons to take cc's.

It was about two years later I said. "Well better get a sot com... looks like that will increase sales".

And it did. Start out with the basic guys. Get a home page up and build from there.
Just like building a house or putting on make up.
You got to start with a foundation.

Your welcome now get out there and make that STACH money.  LOL

If you have any problems let me know.

There are a couple of different ways to put a button or link to pay
on your site for any particular product/s.

I use the "form" method and it's real simple once you've done a couple.

Anyway let me know I'll be happy to help.

I'm trying to talk the band that I am representing into moving their website to one of these shopping cart/template kind of things. They have not updated their site since it went live in 2002. Currently the only thing they are selling on their site are CDs but they may add things like T-shirts, etc.

They need something with an admin panel that they can easily update themselves. In addition they need to be able to upload music files. i.e http://alchemistshandbook.com/alchemy.html
Scroll to the bottom of the page.

Do you offer something that would work for them? Also please PM me with how much you would charge to transfer their site. I don't feel capable of doing that for them.

Not trying to dis 'em, but do they have any money? Bands typically don't, or they don't make enough money to justify anything cool. The instruments and audio equipment tend to soak up a lot of funds.
