Bob and Glenda are against the AC Ratings.  They voiced their opinions several times (especially Bob).

There is a thread with 4000+ posts and another that Claire started on the Misc board about this (I've been following the discussions  ).

Claire gave some typical Pink c/p responses.

We believe the ratings are accurate ....
Members have asked as to ....
We will consider your suggestion...

For members who don't like the new rating system, Durzy suggested, "don't post answers, or make sure the answers are accurate."

...and there are many more.  I've also heard that LW wasn't particularly happy with all the posts directing people to Live Helpless.  A few pink slaps and suspensions were handed.  A few posters DID actually go to Live Helpless, and LH told them to go ask on the AC!!!!




Sorry, I like volunteering, but I don't like to be rated!  I don't work for feebay!  I wish we could rate the Pinks and Live Helpless (but of course Claire didn't even bother answering that question)!!

BTW the glitches that followed this enhancement are still NOT fixed (Scooch @ ebay is still working on that!!!!).

BTW a lot of regulars did think that eBay would LISTEN to them and remove the ratings.    When did ebay ever listen?

It's good to see eBay users will come out en masse to protest the really important things in life (message board ratings)  :  but for the most part can't be bothered to post when there are "trivial" issues like eBay policy changes that negatively affect users businesses, etc.  :twistedevil:

This strikes at what is unique about eBay. It is a business environment filled with non-business people who still see it as a "community". They don't want to let go of their idea of it even when they are no longer making money and/or out and out getting ripped off. Kim

All message boards seem to have a problem with user ratings systems too. Amazon switched forum software last month and added a similar rating system.  The shrieks on the Amazon board were even worse than on eBay (but Amazon's boards on a good day tend to resemble eBay's Power Seller board, so loud shrieking was to be expected).  The Amazon Forum rating system is now gone.  Here is the poll: http://www.amazonsellercommunity.com/for...a?pollID=1

Huh? A posting rating system? How outrageous. How in the world would anything like that ever work? Jeez! Posters already get in a lather when they receive a nuetral feedback. Just another thing for them to have nervous breakdowns over? Sorry, I don't get it. I'll tell you one thing, though. There's no way in hell that Voices members overwhelmingly supported this. No way.
