Ok - It's 7:20 now. No email from Karen and still can't access WP..... hmmmm...... Unique
The Apache web server has been up all night so you can still access the lovely "page not found" error pages with the "IP logged for legal" message. http://www.wagglepop.com/biteme Youll have to wait for Ray to restart mySQL before you can access the rest of the site though .

OT... anyone have a PSU hosted storefront? If so... opinions? Thanks Guys!!
You can download the same Joomla/VirtueMart software they use for free and install it on any website. PSU locks many of the files so your ability to make modifications is limited. PrincessM tried VirtueMart and dumped it in favor of CRE Loaded. Read the 2 threads here to see why: http://community.tuliptools.com/index.ph...288.0.html VirtueMart demo here: http://demos.tuliptools.com/joomla/
Platz, I liked VirtueMart's look, but the forums on VirtuMart and Joomla are dead and I couldn't get anywhere. Seemed really glitchy. So I switched to CRELoaded because Kirk (webgraphicssource) helped me a LOT, but regic was really helpful with Virtuemart too, I just find that CRELoaded is much more user friendly. I'm sure PSU would be fine, they would help you and you'd get a nice looking running store, but you'll be paying $9.99/mo indefinitely (unless it goes up). And if you want to change hosts, you will have to reconfigure a whole new site, and possibly install a cart anyway. [glow=red,2,300]I'd opt for getting your own hosting. (Via Tuliphosting of course) and get a free cart installed.[/glow] Based on what I've heard, I'd recommend Zencart or CRE Loaded. :turkey2:
Hey Miranda... I love the look of your store. Is zen cart a host too? Or do I need to find a host, then upload zencart? (The glowing text above cofuses me... TT doesn't have a cart included with it's hosting?) I know this will be a lot of work but I really want to make a go of it. I'm just not sure how. Any direction or links you can give me would be great. I was reading all night last night and was getting punchy. I would like to have my own site not 3rd party so I can "take it with me"... LOL I already had a crappy 3rd party hosted store and closed it after 2 weeks. Right now I just have a basic office live site to direct people to all my sites. I need a centralized location that I can sell from too... Thanks for everyones input! I would love more info on zencart too. |

Ray's awake and restarted mySQL
For Ray I would suggest signing up for either http://www.websitepulse.com/ or http://www.alertsite.com so you can prevent this from happening again.

I have been poking thru the demo TH templates and am finding them confusing to set up... (it's probably just me...LOL) Which cart do you recommend? Miranda suggested that CRE was more user friendly. I need the user-est friendliest... |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Quote:is the cart where I list the items I have for sale or is that where I just set up my payment options? Both. The cart is basically your entire website. Zen also has EZ_Pages which let you add extra pages to your cart (for. a FAQ etc.) Quote:Which cart do you recommend? Miranda suggested that CRE was more user friendly.I use Zen but some people prefer CRE <--that's a non answer The one big difference between Zen and CRE is that CRE has "checkout without an account." while Zen requires buyer registration. The registration occurs during checkout though and the only extra info a first time buyer needs to provide is a password.
