RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Quote:Hello Members,

As may of you have noticed, we've been making a few small but important appearance and design changes to the Wagglepop layout.

The "Find" bar at the top of all site pages has been changed to be brighter and more noticeable than before (including a clearly defined colored border), and to allow a more clear separation between it and the page content.

Item Titles have been changed on the listings view page by combining bigger font structures with a border designed to give the title more prominence when viewed by potential buyers.

In the coming weeks, more elements will change as well, including the home page graphics and other site elements designed to be a bit more buyer-centric as we move quickly into this holiday season.

We expect any issues to be very minimal while these continuing appearance and design changes are made.

Thank you for your continued support Smile

Karen - WP Customer Care

Last week Karen asked members; How can we improve the buyer experience?
None of the above were given as member suggestions.
and yet the  Hello2 goes on.

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
This made me laugh about Scott Vulgar...
Quote:Vote for Scott to be the best photographer on MySpace.

and many of these from his cheerleaders...

Quote:I voted a couple of times today I don't think it's been an hour yet so I have to wait a little to vote again but I will.

Quote:I have been voting...every hour unless I am sleeping or out shopping Wink

If anyone needs a link to the voting just go to my about me page!
THANKS!

and then the Vulgar one says..
Quote:I wanted to stop in and thank everyone for their support. DO NOT FEEL LIKE YOUR VOTE IS IN VAIN! I recieved an email from the contest coordinators today that stated "The platform gets cleaned up at 11:59 October 31st. Sorry, there is no
point in us clearing it up earlier as idiots will just re-submit bands
again!"

So, in actuality, I am probably in 5th or 6th place right now and closing in fast on the next realistic person in front of me (Abbie).

Every vote counts. Thanks again for your support

Quote:Whoo Hoo he passed Abbie, one of the only Photographers left in the top 10!!

Keep voting though, she tends to have a few big spurts of voting now & then so we don't want him to get behind her again.
The next real artist to beat (that is NOT a bnd lol!) is surgeon general.

Thanks to all who are voting.

blah blah blah...more cheers...

Quote:I've been voting whenever I can! I'm going to start putting my kitchen timer on to ring every hour to remind me to vote every hour.

And more from the vulgar one...
Quote:Thank you so much to everyone for all of their support. The final results will be posted later on today after all of the miscategorized entrants are weeded out. I'll be back to post them when they are released.

Thanks again for the support, it was greatly appreciated.

And my favorite part...a mere 9 minutes later...

Quote:Well folks, the results are up, and I am very sad to say that I was removed from the final results, according to the organizers, due to "voting irregularities". They told me more, but I don't believe it for a second. I am sorry that I let everyone down after you devoted so much time and effort to this. Suffice it to say, that we had more votes than the indicated winner, so in my mind at least, we won, and I thank you for that.

Again, I am very sorry to everyone.

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
I saw that VOTE FOR SCOTT thread and was infuriated. I think I'd mentioned something about it on TT a week or so ago. I even signed up with MySpace two days ago for the sole purpose of tracking the vote and reporting it to MySpace, but couldn't figure out where the contest was and how to report it. I'm glad someone caught it.

"Voting irregularities?" Nah .. . . . . Since when is voting every hour on the hour for one candidate considered a voting irregulatity? Why that's perfectly normal in Waggleland, where buying each other's items and leaving immediate feedback is the way business is done; where twisting the traffic reports to "pump up the volume" is perfectly legit; where cramming the listing tote board with thousands and thousands of sports cards and beads to give the impression the site is "growing" is basic business; and where sending payment due invoices after a fully paid-up member has been excommunicated is perfectly honky-dory.

Love the post by Cash on the site changes. If you've been following this thread, you will note that Ray didn't put a single dime or iota of effort into any of it. All were accomplished by a cheerleader who donated his time, energy and expertise for "the cause." Some followers were so impressed by this "unselfish" gesture that they offered FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE in the effort. I couldn't believe it! Not only are these people willing to pay for the privilege of having no sales, they are offering to finance "improvements" that nobody even asked for. Of course, who's taking the credit? Ray/Karen. Not even a small "thank you" to the member who did the work.

You mean like this  :twistedevil:

TT Wrote:PROOF THAT BEING A NAYSAYER PAYS OFF
Alexa 1-day stats for November 1

eBayExpress.com 31,839
TulipTools 36,046
Wagglepop 48,949

Yep, you're reading that correctly.

Today, we have had more traffic (in terms the Alexa formula that weighs traffic, reach, and page views) than eBay Express wagglepop

From our perspective, while eBay wagglepop continues to spend *millions* of dollars hours on conventional advertising spamming for eBay Express (print, TV, radio, etc.) wagglepop (board spamming, craigslist spamming, kool-aid fueled listing contests, etc), the numbers we've referred to today clearly show that you cannot create demand with advertising spamming; you can only reinforce it.

These statistics show very clearly that solidly crafted business strategies and timetables can compete with deep-pocketed penniless established corporations shady LLCs when it comes to the online buyer's seller's attention and dollars time.

For those so inclined to acknowledge the obvious and indisputable, we will assume this will put an end to the occasional calls for immediate and expensive conventional advertising time consuming spamming and kool-aid chugging contests.

Just like Wp1

He trolled the FAS boards for suggestions from concerned sellers. That's what encouraged everyone to back him in the first place. He seemed like an "honest" guy to most, who was hammering out a replacement to eBay, using their own personal suggestions (when eBay would not even give them the time of day).

When it was revealed he was only using Rainwerks software, it became evident why he never took ANY of the suggestions made on the boards.

He just opened board dialog to seem democratic, but he was unable to actually implement any of the good suggestions about site functionality.

By the way, that Wagglepoop thread at OTWA is one of the best reads still up on the boards. It follows it through from beginning to end, and luckily preserves many quotes that would have been lost forever at FAS.

I dare someone to link to it on the WP boards. LOL.

BTW, WagglePop is a member at MySpace. Since they only have 18 "friends", it wouldn't be difficult to find the photography links among them...if I had time, I'd point a couple of the other contestants to this thread...maybe encourage them to sign up at WP and review conversations first hand.

Good idea, Then! I'd do it, but since I managed to circumvent my "termination" so I can "lurk", I don't want to blow my cover. I know that some others posters here are registered and maybe they will be brave enough.

Good idea as well, RHO. I have no clue how MySpace works, but for those who do, I think it's your civic duty to "enlighten" some of the members who their "friends" really are.

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Member's Question:
Quote: Hi, I went to Find and put in Vintage Postcards just to check and see how often my listings appear. I was very surprised to see that I am only showing 11 feedbacks when I actually have 19. When you click on my listing the number is 19. I got the new feedback days ago so it should have updated by now. Is anyone else having this problem? I like to flaunt whatever feedback I have.....I have worked hard for it!!! Smile
Answer:
Quote:Hello Members,

As related to Feedback Scores and how they display, there are different databases for different functions that update at different rates.

On Wagglepop, the search results display a column specifically for feedback, with a feedback icon attached.

Those numbers cannot be "fully" dynamic without causing unwanted peripheral issues. Construction of a results environment to do so would be extremely resource intensive, and likely cause a very noticeable slowdown in paging and load times when browsing.

For that reason, Feedback Scores oftentimes appear slightly differently based on the particular behavior that "calls" it for display. As Feedback Scores increase, the percentage difference between disparate scores will be greatly reduced Smile
