That's kind of scary, Aslsklidng (lol I forget what your name is on here). If it is a cult, and a really good cult, it could be real bad. This is the internet after all. Anyone on X-Pop Nation? I don't want to talk as freely on here as I have been... rather talk to y'all in private.
Have no fear, Princess. WE DO NOT BAN POSTS HERE! I know how hard it is to believe, after living under Ray's tyranny, but you are free to speak as you wish. We'd all love to hear from you. |

From the TT archive, September 05, 2006, 01:51:35 AM message from Rho regarding the difference between the number on the home page of WP and the numbers from PSU
Quote:About WP Auction counts and that 100K Ray's promoting...I crunched it out tonight and will share the results here, too. Gonna bring some of the great information from earlier posts back to the forefront so new readers don't have to wade through it all. Chiquita will too.
Good bye all

WP's 3rd largest store is closing doug Wrote:Actually, I looked at WP as a shopping mall rather than a hosting company. I rent space at a shopping mall because it draws traffic. It advertises that it exists. It offers services like security. I may put ads in the local newspaper that my shop is in the mall, but the mall operators have a GIANT BILLBOARD that entices people to go there for their shopping. and doug Wrote:For now, my $9.95 is better spent to offset the $39.95 that renewing my Amazon subscription costs. Since I re-opened there last Friday, I've sold 4 times the dollar amount I've sold here since opening in late June. Karen WP made an insulting comment to Doug and then deleted her own post. What follows are sellers' responses to her post: another WP seller Wrote:Oh Man! If I was on the phone with customer service and someone said that to me, they would have just gotten an earful AND lost my business. doug Wrote:Karen -another seller, formerly a big WP cheerleader comments on Karen's comments: Quote:I have beed sitting here watching this and am amazed! I have been extremely supportive of WP but this is ridiculous. The comments coming from CS are getting far from professional. This is an Auction site NOT a Web hosting site, otherwise it would be named as such so yes a seller CAN expect for this site to do its own advertising as well. I have helped numerous people and even kept my mouth shut on computer related issues where the answers given are obviously untrue, and there are some serious unattended to problems. But all that Chain Man is asking for is a time frame of an advertising schedule from WP. There is no huge secret to that. Your not giving away your secrets here! a simple "we will be advertising within 1 to 2 months " most likely would sufice. The anwers are getting so round about its really kind of sad. And there are ALOT of patient people here who are saying I'll just be patient"...but that WILL run out. I had to close my sotre due to no sales, and I did promote my own store. Eventually its business and people will realize that and not be so patient for answers. Karen returns: karen wp Wrote:Hello Members,
This is a great exchange that took place on WP a few months back, as you can see history repeats itself over and over again on WP.
Good bye all

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Well low and behold, as soon as I reported a drop of one in the store count it slipped back up to 635. So I checked the page captures I've been collecting. On the last page, LONE STAR DECOR showed up. A seller registered since June 14/06 with one feedback (that you can't find) put up a brand new listing, A, singular new listing, just one. This store has shown up every once in a while with a singular listing, leaves, and shows up again. Note the listing/auction number for the new listing 139607. That is a very old number as new listings start with 3xxxxxx.
So consider that I might be wrong about it being a new listing (even though it has the new icon beside it). Maybe it was relisted. It then begs the question, why has this seller kept a store open since June (9.95 X 7 = $79.60) for an item 8.95 X 10. Legit? I DON'T THINK SO!!!! :asshat2: Would this perhaps be a store that Ray has 'borrowed'? I rest my case on this circumstantial evidence.
The one thing you can never afford to lose is your temper.

Chain Man is closing his store?
Chainman has had numerous run "disagreements" with Karen. This was one I found while searching through the older stuff. The date on that posting was Sept 12.

Quote:RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens The opening day link still works and I think the others do too, you can click on STORES and see the list of stores that existed back then, would be interesting to see if the store names are the same as the 1 item stores :blinkie:

Chain Man is closing his store?
Chain Man has been talking about closing his store for some time now. He alluded to it on PSU and asked where other sellers had set up shop with success. Someone discovered his post and put it here. Ray was lurking the TT boards and read it, I'm sure, and suddenly nothing more was heard from him -- until now. We all assumed Ray had somehow coddled him into staying somehow (because his departure would make a dramatic effect on the listing tote board), but we all knew he would sooner or later get fed up, as nothing was happening and it didn't appear that would change any time this century. |
