4M down. Quite a change on the face of it. But wouldn't we need to look at how the core was affected to really have a clue how this has affected ebay overall? :blinkie:

4M down. Quite a change on the face of it. But wouldn't we need to look at how the core was affected to really have a clue how this has affected ebay overall? :blinkie: [/quote] Medved has 12.5 million core the day of the fee hike. 12.4 million before the sale this week. Essentially no change in core. The sale added 2.5 million listings ( 14.9 million) which will likely disappear when the auctions end. In past years a sale would have added 4-6 million listings. Quote:Music lost 1,681,569 or 22.08% This one is no surprise. The combination of lower selling prices on eBay than elsewhere and the new higher store listing fees would mean we would break even (maybe) if we tried to sell CDs from an eBay Store after the 21st...no profits

Quote:Biggest (only) Gainers: Aren't three of those categories where much of the fraud occurs? (Just a silly thought.) Probably no cause and effect there. |

Re: Breakdown of eBay Store listings lost by category
I contributed by deleting / not listing 220 items so far.
I really think they are throwing the baby out with the bathwater, but I doubt they care. Kim P.S. What is happening with Express? Is anyone shopping on it?? (Speaking in general, NOT to the board posters who I KNOW aren't shopping on it ) |

Quote:too stupid Make that greedy, short-sighted, out for themselves. Typical corporate America. The execs make a big mess, take their stock-options and golden parachutes, leave, and let the next bunch of crooks have at it. In eBay's case it is not just the employees who suffer (i.e. Enron), but the jillions of small business owners using the platform :'(. Kim |

Quote:In eBay's case it is not just the employees who suffer (i.e. Enron), but the jillions of small business owners using the platform That is the sad thing. Most corporate employees know their jobs could disappear at any time but until recently I don't think many eBay sellers realized the businesses they had built on eBay could also be put in jeopardy by a corporate policy change. |
