eBay adds Skype buttons to more categories

Hi everyone, this is Don Albert, from the Skype North America team. As you probably know, in June we introduced the option for sellers in select test categories to put Skype buttons on their listings. Buyers and sellers alike have really enjoyed the opportunity to resolve questions quickly and easily, while also improving trust in the process.

As a result we are expanding to include more categories. Starting today Skype will be available to add to listings in Motorcycles, Special Vehicles, Cell Phones & Portable Electronics, Camera & Photo, Baby, Travel, and additional areas of Collectibles. A complete list of all eligible categories can be seen here.

How to add Skype
When you use the Sell Your Item form to list in one of these categories, you'll be able to choose to add either a Chat or Voice button (or both) to your listings. Buyers just need to click on the buttons, register for Skype (if they haven't already done so), and then send their message. It's fast, it's easy, and it's free.

I believe that's an out right lie. All I've seen for the most part,
is sellers saying "who wants to be rang and bothered with stupid questions
from buyers who can't or wont read." Stuff along those lines.  :

Those are the comments I see too.  The pro-Skype button comments I've seen usually come from who think Matchups, Wikis, and Blogs are more important than fixing glitches or selling products.   ;D

If you go to the Skype for eBay sellers page on Skype-owner eBay's site, you get a basic rundown on how easy it is to add Skype buttons to your eBay auctions. You're even told what a cool idea this is.

But one thing you won't read is case histories.

For any online business, case histories are an extremely useful marketing communications tool. Case histories can describe problems, challenges or opportunities individual users were facing, and then include real-world insights from these same users about why the implementing the service/product was such a good idea...
