BellisimaJ. - Right now, I'm just trying to see if my views are something people want to hear. I am looking into a book if I get the feel that people would be iterested in it.
As for the stores board. I'm a big boy I can take the abuse if it comes. So Brains a troll huh? I'll mind my P's and Q's LOL Thanks! Randy |

Randy Wrote:I don't know why people don't just buy it on eBay and sell it on Amazon. Once or twice a year we do buy several lots of slower selling filler CDs on eBay and resell them on Amazon, our websites, or GEMM. I just shipped a $52 Amazon order (3 CDs)--all 3 CDs were bought on eBay this Spring for an average of $1.05 each. ;D Auctionbytes Wrote:AB: In hindsight, it seems logical to create your own website. But back then, eBay was really good enough to stay and sell exclusively. It was good enough, but the writing was on the wall as far back as 2003 that the good times wouldn't last forever and that diversification was the right thing to do even though sales were still great. |

Quote:BellisimaJ. - I no longer sell anywhere. If I could find a product category that still had margin I might reconsider that but Media is not the category to sell in. Ain't that the truth? It's too bad, really... there's almost nothing left (if anything)--certainly on eBay, and I suspect to a larger degree across the whole internet. I'm going to be posting more off-eBay shopping links in the thread I started about buying outside the auctions to support mom&pop and regular ecommerce sites.

Ebay was good enough for awhile. Until they started making weekly changes. And their daily glitches didn't help. And their billing irregularities where a pain in the ass. Not to mention their lack of a shopping cart and the inability to practically accept anything other than PayPal.
I am generally in agreement with you, but have to disagree with that statement. It's a big world out there, and sometimes it takes some ingenuity to come up with something, but the margins still exist. Imagination is the key. |

It's all in the branding, baby.
Just like we used to say on the rodeo circuit. Wait, that's somebody else's life. Never been to a rodeo. Rodeo Drive once. Does that count? Yeah, I guess when it comes to branding, sure! |

Perhaps there's too many clone sites, but plenty of room for ones with innovation, character, and ingenuity?
