Ok, I have a question. If I wanted to add a blog to my domain, but on a subdomain, so let's say blog.randa-avenue.com, how would I do this? Is there free software or something that I can use to host my blog on my own site?

tutorial anyone???

edited to ask: and are these blogs customizable in their appearance, like having images, etc?

Go into your control panel, click on sub-domain mgr, and either view a video to help you create a new sub, or just fill in the blanks----it's very easy!

Once you are in the sub, go to the free Elefante scripts link(also in cpanel), scroll down the list to "blogs" and click on Wordpress. It will install WP for you and you can then configure it as you like.

Yes, you can customize the appearance to make it look like the rest of your site or you can. use any of the free templates that are available for Word Press.

ok but wait. How do I know that I'm in the right spot to add the blog to the subdomaiN? I went part of the way but when it asked me about the database it said randavirtu.... that's not right is it?

Setup a new database for the blog using the MySQL manager before installing and use the new database.

During the install you'll see a drop down list of domains/subdomains -select the subdomain where you want it installed

If you haven't yet created a DB for the blog, you need to do that. It's very simple, just fill in the blanks. Then go back and do your install.

but, why is it blogginit.randa-avenue.com/wordpress? did I have to have a subdomain to add that blog? I thought I was going to be able to have www.blogginit.randa-avenue.com be my blog. without the /wordpress

If you want it to be bloginit.randa-avenue.com/ , choose the subdomain where you want it and then type in / (instead of /wordpress) in the "choose path" box.

(You can delete the blog you installed by clicking the red x next to its name in the "elephante scripts' section and then reinstall )
