Re: PeSA Director Sell2All Files for Bankruptcy, Wrote Book on Getting Rich On eBay
Simply put.
If one relies on the model of low prices to get "volume" and volume to maintain "cash flow": But the volume keeps dropping off. Well... There goes that cash flow. :blinkie: Just another indication of what many of us have experienced, and known about by seeing our own ebay sales begin to "drop off" since ebay's began it's constant tweaking, glitchancements, re arranging of the furniture and apathy to the mounting fraud a few years back. And they call us the "negative ones" because we dare to speak up about all this BS that ebay is doing causing most of this. You ran off and continue to run off many of the buyers ebay hence causing "volume" to drop off for many of these BIG BOYS you courted too. We can see the fall out on this more clearly now for those who relied on ebay as their primary customer pool. As the cash flow for those volume sellers has dried up just like the customer pool is slowly but surly doing at ebay as well. Hey if any of these guys hired some of ebay's accountants. They may have been able to fake IT through for a while longer just like momma ebay is doing.

My two pennies worth:
Froogle, Google Base, and other shopping comparison sites hurt eBay sellers of new products, particularly volume sellers, and are hastening the day when the brick and mortar volume retailers like Wal-Mart do to online low-price volume sellers what they did to brick and mortar stores who tried to survive on low prices alone. |

[/quote] Very true. An angle I had considered long ago before Froogle, Google Base, and other shopping comparison sites were up and running was the "Wal-Mart" types doing online, what they did to brick and mortar stores. I even wrote a / blurb article on it. My thoughts at that time were mostly speculation and what part ebay had to play in all this. I was trying to figure out in my own mind, what the hell was going on. Here is that rant from long ago: http://xppman.0catch.com/DOUBLECROSS.htm

If eBay hadn't cut fees the past 2 years on the $0.99 and under listings I think a lot more of eBay's top sellers would be out of business by now.

Re: PeSA Director Sell2All Files for Bankruptcy, Wrote Book on Getting Rich On eBay
Quote:The “eBay death spiral” occurs when sale items repeatedly sell for less than what the company paid for the item, Quote:“This is a common thing that happens to eBay resellers,” Quote:Sell2All used a “no reserve business model” Quote:“If you have bought something to sell for $50 and it only sells for $45, then you’re in trouble,” Wingo said. “It works pretty good unless you make a bad buy. It takes 10 good buys to fix a bad one, and if some of those buys are bad, then you’re on a death spiral. You can end up upside down really quickly.” Sooo...does this mean it might not be a good long term strategy if you follow the advice of UC Berkeley Professor Morgan ( http://community.tuliptools.com/index.ph...849.0.html ) to start your auctions out at reallllllly low prices and jack up the shipping prices? Quote:I heard the book is being re-released with a new title "How to make $8 million on eBay and spend $9.5 million doing it" That book is the reason I don't feel sorry for him at all. I tend to have a really low opinion of people who sell informercial quality "get rich quick" crap like that.
