Quote:We have a brand new, state of the art database, with site-specific features built in to ensure no future database corruption. Liar. You're using MySQL and there is no "built in" feature that will "ensure no future database corruption" Quote:We also have moved HiBidder.com to a dedicated server They were on a shared server? One dedicated server doesn't give them much room to grow. :
Quote:Database Implodes Is the owner related to Bidzig :
They both graduated from Boinktard U. |

mandy Wrote:Liar. You're using MySQL and there is no "built in" feature that will "ensure no future database corruption" I enjoyed his comments about the new database too. ;D He's either clueless or he hopes everyone else is because MySQL is far from a "state of the art database" compared to other SQL engines like PostgreSQL, Oracle, db2, etc. |

Quote:95% of Listings Lost I did my bashing of HiBidder and its owner back in January (summary of January rant: "what an incompetent " ) so I'll refrain from saying "told you so, told you so " today. : : : Quote:We hope that you will stay with HiBidder.com, and help us rebuild our site! There is no way I would stick around and relist my items if that ever happened on any venue. :

RE: HiBidder Database Implodes, 95% of Listings Lost
When I'm working on an HTML file, I usually make several backups of it. I'm paranoid.
Guess they've never heard of not keeping all their eggs in one basket. They kept all the eggs, chicken, and feed in one basket and backed it up after the basket fell.
