eBay Korea introduces trust seller system, may make listings FREE
Quote:Online marketplace Auction will introduce a so-called âtrust sellerâ system on Oct. 31 to guarantee return of and reimbursement for products. Auction said Sunday it will select some 2,000 out of 100,000 sellers at the online marketplace as âtrust sellers,â while the operator itself will guarantee return and reimbursement requests for all merchandise sold by them. eBay's Whitman hints that FREE may soon become the business model for eBay Korea
Quote:EBay Chief Executive Officer Meg Whitman said Tuesday that eBay continues to face "tenacious" competition from online auctioneers and retailers based in Korea. EBay's Korean partner has already lowered what it charges to list items for sale, and introduced a buyer loyalty program, among several changes. There may be more tweaks in store, Whitman said during an interview. When asked if eBay would make listings free in order to better compete against Korean online retailers and auctioneers, Whitman said "there's a lot of flexibility" for just such a move full article: http://www.marketwatch.com/News/Story/St...BC5AFD5%7d&siteid=yhoo&dist=yhoo |
