Is eBay Intentionally Hiding the Listings of "Whiners & Complainers" from Search
Welll....are they? :twistedevil: Interesting topic because if it was true it might open eBay up to some lawsuits: customer pays for service and eBay intentionally fails to provide the service...
http://forums.ebay.com/db2/thread.jspa?t...2000237656&tstart=0 seller with 7300 total transactions Wrote:I've made the experience since months now that as soon as I say something negatvie about Ebay, my items get totally invisible and I don't sell anything, not in core and not in store format. seller with 5000 transactions Wrote:Funny thing...I was just signing on to start the exact same thread! seller with 3200 total transactions Wrote:I to have often thought this. You can post negativity here and watch the sales drop and leave the boards for a while and watch the sales begin to come up again. seller with 1000 total transactions Wrote:Many of us noticed that, along with having fee-hike-furor posts (and auctions, even ones selling real items) and whole dissenting board threads removed (sometimes within a few minutes of posting them), posting to such threads resulted in apparent invisibility to Ebay buyers. In other words: speak a negative word, kiss your Ebay visibility (and business) goodbye.

Anyone who believes it's true could file a BBB complaint against eBay.

Hope this helps! No, it didn't help. The sonuvabi.tch said he was sorry for hijacking her thread and then wandered off to start a new thread on another board where he ignored the same question over and over. If they can ignore our questions that easily, then why wouldn't I believe that they can ignore some people's listings, especially when those people are vocal. I put absolutely nothing past Ebay these days. |

Re: Is eBay Intentionally Hiding the Listings of "Whiners & Complainers" from Search
Funny thing is I've started to experience the same thing not too long after LieWorld and
eBay found out who xppman was. But really more recently in the last few months than usual and I haven't even been vocal with the xppman ID for quite some time... At least not on their boards. It started recently with bogus listing violation reports then my ME page was supposedly in violation. A string of non paying bidders like a month ago, several ASQ that only one person followed through on. (ended being an off eBay sale). Then just in the last month to now. No bids or looks as if I was just turned off. Oh wait I did get one sale this month. Of course I'm only running a few auctions here and there. I guess I should list thousands of items and go in the boards and praise eBay huh? Thank God for my site or I would be living in a card board box right now. :

Re: Is eBay Intentionally Hiding the Listings of "Whiners & Complainers" from Search
Is anyone here getting enough sales off their own website to actually make any money?
I'm working on mine but I have to admit I'm scared. Ebay sales are so flat right now I don't have much to lose. How I would love to turn back the clock just one year (on EBAY That is)...this has been a killer of a year. And, this month is starting off worse than any before. |

[/quote] I use my website strictly as a catalog for people to follow up from Home & Garden Shows where I exhibit. I don't bother with SEO or Pay-Per-Click or submitting to any engines at all. Yet, two weeks ago I got my first online sale from a stranger just surfing the web. This was for a $2,000 fountain. Plus they paid me $200 to crate it and another $600 to ship it. Sent a business check which cleared quickly (decided not to allow credit card for this one). |

Quote:Is anyone here getting enough sales off their own website to actually make any money? Yes. I've sold off more off my web site in October already (it's only the 5th) than I did on eBay in the last 30 days (eBay store is just parked--no effort put into it). I would recommend forgetting eBay and learning all you can about having an off eBay site. This place (Tulip Tools) has helped me a ton. Kim P.S. HI ~Bob! It's so great to have you posting. I missed you! I love it when you and Anita start riffing It makes my day. |
