Quote:The goal is more buyers and more sales for everyone. An analogy would be like rounding up cattle. The buyers are spread out over lots of different auction sites, but if we can round them up, and drive them into our corral or website, than we can keep them there and control the herd or the market. Right now ebay is the big cattle baron, but we got lots of good cowboys (sellers) that just need to join forces and work together, instead of trying to work independant.

Scott has no feedback as a seller since 2006 but plenty of feedback as a buyer THIS YEAR.
How sad he looks. At least Mo got rid of her cookie sneaking banner. No more AlsoShop cookie victims....lol

Really Elgato, you have moved my ebay strike/boycott thread twice now, and now you deleted my poll on which alternative site to support. Why?

The thread has been getting alot of replies and generated alot of discussion, so why are you acting like the Soup Nazi?

When he refers to "the Forum Nazi police", is he referring to the TT forum's frequent attacks on venues like ePier, iOffer, Plunderhere, and OnlineAuction that allow the sale of Nazi and white power memorabilia by admitted Nazis like auroranorth?   :twistedevil:

Quote:right now ebay has a monopoly and controls the market.
Doesn't anyone else see that?

I don't see it, and this chart (http://community.tuliptools.com/index.ph...2.new.html) doesn't show that eBay's marketplace enjoys a monopoly position amongst multi-seller venues.

Oligopoly might be a better term to use when referring to the concentration of power (i.e. marketshare) enjoyed by the top 3 players in the multi-seller marketplace segment of the ecommerce world.

Quote: if we all support ONE SITE

OK, I cast my vote for craigslist for 2 reasons: it's free (in most categories), and most importantly, it is one of the very few Internet companies where "greed" is a 4-letter word rather than the basis of the business plan -- unlike eBay or ScottyDo.  Confusedtolensmiley:

Quote:boycott

I'd suggest shifting focus from a seller boycott of eBay to a buyer boycott.  I'd be more than happy to volunteer my stores to be the ONE SITE that buyers join together and support. Yellowtonguerazz
Seriously, why does anyone waste their time arguing anything over there?

They are all just such a lost cause.

Obviously, Scott's boycott will be a huge waste of his energy. He's such a joke, yet they argue with him over and over again. Why give him any time or pay him any mind. Just another PSU flake at a dandruff party. Icon_bounce
Scott nixed the boycott idea in favor of spamming sellers through the contact seller PM systems on Bonanza and BluJay,

PSU user Wrote:What you are saying is that the only marketing tool that works for you is spamming members of other sites? If so, maybe you need to rethink your business model and plan.
Scott the Spammer Wrote:Thats exactly what I am saying, this is the ONLY thing that has worked and I am seeing huge results.

You call it spamming, I call it selective emailing to sellers I hand picked. I am not contacting everyone on the site or sending out blanket emails, I am picking professional sellers that have nice ads and know what they are doing.
