Web hosting can be found for $3.99 a month; one auction can easily cost you that much.
As far as time is concerned, yes, they do take some time to set up initially, but after that, I don't see why they would take more time than listing new auctions.

It can actually just cost $10 a year if the domain is through GoDaddy, then add your basic SSL for $25/year (Most seller websites don't take credit card numbers on-site, so that's all that is necessary.) Go Daddy gives free economy hosting, including PHP4/5, 10 SQL databases, email, all the standard features. 10 gigs storage and 300gig bandwidth. With Go Daddy revamping their hosting in the last year, it is not a bad deal... especially since it is free. That is, if you like Go Daddy.
Good thinking, Xw, but the terms are a little different (just went and checked).
For the free hosting account, you must purchase your domain through GD, and the site does NOT include a shopping cart. It only includes 5 pages. The free site also includes advertising. Unless you have very little to sell, this is not a good solution. Also, adding a shopping cart would cost approx $39 monthly!!

The basic hosting package, which also does not include the shopping cart, is as follows:
Quote:From $4.29/month

    * Up to 300 GB disk space
    * Up to 3,000 GB bandwidth
    * EXCLUSIVE Go Daddy Hosting Connection
    * New! All plans include Google Webmaster Tools

You still have to pay for an SSL, and a shopping cart.

On the other hand, using Tulip Hosting as an example, your $3.79 monthly includes the following:
1 domain hosted
100 GB traffic
10000 MB disk space
free shopping cart
choice of blog software (wordpress, movable type, etc)
free website builder
1 My SQL database

Etc, etc..

Now, my point here is not to sell anyone on Tulip Hosting, just to point out that Go Daddy is not the best option for a sales site.

Why, just because they have a 3 year track record of leading their victims from one disaster to another?

now we see others like 2 boys and knappschild doing their thing of being unfair in how they post.. trying to look fair and reasonable but they are NOT..

if people criticizes ray of WP for having a store on ebay which is wise to lure more buyers to WP.. criticizing like MO and others has about that and not criticizing MO's even more of a personal move away from what she was promoting.. these people are NOT reasonable and fair minded types..
