The server is about to move... Any bets on how many days it will be down?

PH has also been removed from the United Best Network. But, PH is still displaying the banner. It has been about 6 weeks, with lies and backstabbing from all parties involved, and from what others say I fully expect the site to be monitored with an iron fist like Wagglepop. No negativity about the site, even if it is constructive, and only those who support the "vision." That's a terrific vision they support though, since the average sales per store is a now whopping $13.50! A grand total of $6200 from 2000 sales. Sell the farm Pa, we can move to the city!

PH-EU has not changed the privacy policy in over a month since I personally brought it to their attention that the name AuctionQuests was named instead of Plunderhere. If they can't even read and react to an email that is specifically notifying them of a privacy policy error that will make them look like total fools, then they must be total fools.

I don't know why anyone would want to sell there though, with PS/Angel selling there, the spam will likely be flying and get the site on some blacklists quickly. Who on earth would want to be associated with such a blatant spam artist? For that matter, who would want to be aligned with sellers who's primary concern is the site's mascot???
Quote:A grand total of $6200 from 2000 sales.

Subtract the seller to seller sales from that figure and the site probably wouldn't qualify as a Bronze Powerseller if it was an eBay seller.
Quote:It’s been one month since Mark Taylor’s Palgold Card Services LLC purchased Plunderhere from its backstabbing former owners Lynette Jester and Spencer “AQ Ray” Ray.

What has Mark accomplished during his first month? About the same thing he did with his former auction sites Palgold and Bidz.org.uk. He’s provided a lesson on how not to run an auction site.

Under the leadership of Mark “superdeals” “bidz” Taylor:

    * The number of sales in the past 30 days on the site is down 20% to 1,902
    * Site monthly GMV also has taken a 23% hit to $6,502
    * The number of listings is down over 10% to 55,275
    * Traffic is down.  Compete shows a 10% decline to 22,747 monthly uniques while Quantcast shows a 15% decline to 22,118.
    * The promised server move has yet to take place
    * Plunderhere.eu’s privacy policy page still says the wrong site name (”AuctionQuests”)
    * The site’s forum has become a place where only positive thoughts are allowed

Dontknow I didn't see anything on the forums either.

Plunderhere.com has been moved from AQRay's server at ThePlanet to iWeb not Rackspace,  Plunderhere.eu was moved to Rackspace last week and is still there.   Maybe after paying for 1 month at Rackspace Mark decided he couldn't afford RackSpace's high rates and decided to go with the cheapo host iWeb (who have a horrendous customer service record).  If so, the PH.eu site will  be moving again in a few weeks to iWeb, and based on iWeb's track record Plunderhere.com and .eu users can look forward to prolonged outages in the future.

EDIT:  betcha this is the "Core 2 Quad with a Terabyte of space" Mark was talking about: the $199 monthly "terabyte power server".  FYI,  RackSpace would have cost him $600-$1000+ and RackSpace's Quad Core servers are Xeons not Core 2s .

2 notes for Mark:

1. CPanel is for tards.  Smile Any halfway competent server administrator who is planning on hosting only their own sites on a dedicated server avoids CPanel and Plesk because they limit your flexibility because of the changes they make to your server's configuration. Real women use Webmin or the command line not CPanel.

2.  While you're at it, how about updating your outdated vBulletin v3.68 with its CSRF security hole to either 3.68.10 or the current 3.70 version -- or is upgrading a forum beyond your limited technical skills?

3.68 and v3.69 contain a a CSRF cross-site request forgery vulnerability.

Advisory issued on April 23rd.  Mark must not take his forum users' security very seriously since he chose to ignore the alert

Quote:The CSRF problem potentially enabled an administrator who had been lured to a third-party site to unknowingly submit forms located on the forum he or she administers, resulting in potential damage to the forum. Actions performed via the Admin Control Panel are not vulnerable.

The fix for the CSRF issue involves many files and many templates, so unfortunately it is not feasible to produce a patch or a plugin to address the problem. Only a full-scale update will work.

We recommend that customers running versions of vBulletin older than 3.6.10 upgrade as soon as possible.

EDIT: add AlsoShop (using the vulnerable vBulletin v 3.69) to the list of sites that don't place a high premium on user security.
