What? Bell...
Are you and I the only TT heads not at church scouting out a new sock puppet for xppman?
Someone on another forum / IM thing told me to go to church to pick up chicks. ;D
Maybe they said that because it's the ONLY place X HASN'T "scouted"Â yet!Â

Same here. So what's all the fuss?
I guess, in my mind anyway, it's because he is making such a big deal about it and making it all so public with talk of tracking software; only the BEST will survive; no second chances; blah, blah, blah; etc.Â
I guess I can understand your feelings about that, Cranky.Â

The early replies to Karen's collection agency announcement:

Sadly, the intended audience are most likely not the ones who read these boards.
Their loss!

WP informs members accounts will be closed via MESSAGE BOARDS?Â
Quote:Another step forward in the right direction for Wagglepop. Yea for we serious sellers!!
She joined opening day. She has 13 feedback from buyers in 5 months (28 total FB, 27 w/store icons).
Only on Wagglepop does "serious sellers" and "professional sellers" mean people who obviously can go for months or years without any real income from their selling efforts and who think fun and surprises are more important than a steady income--and only on Wagglepop is a non-professional seller someone who relies on their online income to pay some or all of their bills. :
EDIT: and only on Wagglepop do you have to spend every cent you make buying from your fellow sellers so they'll buy from you and you can pretend you actually have real buyers.
One thing that bothered me about the cult of WP soon after I joined and bothers me even more now is the arbitrary, unequal, capricous enforcement of the rules and they ways in which they can be manipulated by the cult leaders as it suits their desires and objectives -- Cults are dictatorships. There is no vote, no surveys taken, no polls or opinions solicited, and no options. The leaders make proclamations and the members either abide or risk excommunication, the risk being inversely proportional to the financial and/or image benefit of the leaders. The recent "termination of account" policy being a case in point. Nowhere in the TOS that I can recall, were the terms for termination due to delinquency specified or even mentioned, except in some vague terms of "trust". This arbitrary, capricious "TBA" philosophy leaves members guessing as to where they stand and what "surprises" (good or bad) lye ahead. What is the current criteria for account closure? It appears to be stores with delinquent accounts that have little or no inventory. Again, unequal enforcement. A delinquent account is a delinquent account, whether the account has a store with no items or 1000 items. Yet, stores with high inventory counts are being allowed to "pass" to keep the listing tote board up. I would even go so far as to say some of these stores with very high inventories may be given a free ride because the benefits to the image of the cult outweighs the individual loss in income to Ray/Karen but benefits in collective income by giving credence to the argument that WP is "growing".
Furthermore, members whose accounts were terminated due to payment delinquencies (or any other reason, for that matter) are not even allowed to continue with buying privileges. Again, this is dictatorship. By what power did Ray/Karen become entrusted with the ability to judge who can or cannot purchase from a seller? This is bad business. But then, WP is not a business. It never was a business. It never will be a business. It is all about Ray/Karen's personal vandetta against eBay and their use of friends/family and church members, bootie-knitting moms, and disenfrachised eBay sellers to further their own cult agenda. Â
This is in response to the first posting I listed earlier today from WP...

Quote:Hello Members, It's simply another step in our goal of building a seller body that buyers who visit us know they can count on.
In addition to this basic process of account reviews and adjustments, we'll soon be introducing some more visible methods of letting buyers know exactly who they are buying from, in terms of how they fulfill their obligations as Wagglepop sellers.
Good performance as a seller should be rewarded, and that's exactly what those upcoming changes are going to do

Quote:Thank You for all your hard work!!
And can hardly wait for the surprise!!
Quote:~Thanks for the update, Karen. I totally agree with you. From the buyers point of view, if I checked out 4 or 5 stores on Wagglepop and found they only had a handful of items in their stores, I would assume that all of the stores were like that. Course, I know this is not true.
~It's gonna be an interesting week. Keep up the great work!
Quote:So how about the people who don't have a store but still list items. like I am doing at the moment? Am I just going to be thrown under the bus?
Quote:If you read Karen's several posts on this topic it is those who have not paid their account who will be heading into the sunset
"Karen" popped in for breakfast this morning at WP...
Quote:Hello Members,
It's a beautiful autumn day here in our part of New York, though a bit chilly for me. Good day to stop in at the Breakfast Club with my cup of herbal tea
I'd like to quickly relate something that happened here the other day when we had an industry guest here at the office stop by unexpectedly. What she said made us think a bit, and realize where we stand as a company.
During normal conversation, referring to a trends analysis and discussion about infrastructure estimates for upgrading she said, half-jokingly:
"Well, you didn't think knocking off eBay was going to be easy, did you?"
In that moment, I think we all realized, maybe for the first time, the depth of the opportunity that is presenting itself for us as a company and sellers with vision.
"Easy" and "business" simply do not belong together in the same sentence.
Irregardless of innovative ideas, or financial backing, building a business is about sacrifice, patience, and above all else, hard work.
Building a business is not easy, and never let anyone convince you it is

WTF does "more visible methods" mean? Â Oh, and WP and business doesn't belong in the same sentence, either.
