100 stores.
New store: "Use It Again"? Don't recall seeing it before. Although supposedly a member since May 2006, there's no "founding" icon and the only sale was over two years ago, although this seller left no FB for the buyer (another book seller), who has since closed shop -- Very odd. Shows one item listed: a "brand new" book by Stephen King (actually, the book was published not long after this seller became a member), the description of which more or less sums up the Wagglepop experience.
"No more than a dark line on a blank page. A horizon line, maybe. But also,a slot for blackness to pour through...."

Ummm, you forgot to take into account the fact that Wagglepop has the friendliest community boards on the planet and the eBay boards are full of a bunch of negative meanies. Factoring in the board participation dynamic you get:
Wagglepop featured store $39.95
eBay Store $5,025.79 ($25.79 in ebay fees plus $5,000 spent on psychiatrist visits and anti-depressants which were needed after visiting the unfriendly eBay discussion forums and being subjected to negativity)
See, even if you only list 8 items in your store, Wagglepop is much cheaper than eBay and will save you thousands of dollars per month.
Hope this helps!ÂÂ

Hello Poppers:
Although our participation levels are not quite as high as we originally anticipated, we will be forever committed to consistently providing the highest level of service to our valued membership. The policies we implement are for the benefit of all members going forward with us into the next phase of our journey to success. Nowhere can you find the dynamic, friendly community our members enjoy here, so it is hard for us to imagine why anyone would want to leave us, especially those that have inflated our listing tote board, drank our Koolaid and sang Kumbaya with us so long. We care about you, our valued sellers, and it is important that members considering leaving our friendly, helpful, trust-based community aren't making hasty decisions that they might live to regret. We realize some members might be wavering in their commitment to our wonderful community after a brief 1-2 year period of no sales and very little traffic. Or perhaps they may have read a treasonous post by a naysayer or troll that has infected them with negativity. We understand this.
So, for the benefit of those loyal, dues-paying members, we have instituted a minimum 2-month account closure policy. Effective immediately, members who submit a request to have their stores and accounts closed will be given a minimum of two more, dues-paying months' "grace period" before we act on their request. We want to give members plenty of time to consider if their requests for account closure are wise, prudent, thought-out decisions. Should members need more time to consider, we will be happy to extend this grace period at the current monthly dues-paying rate. It is a revolutionary idea, but that's what we're all about. If, at any time during the "grace period" a member's account goes into arrears, the request for account closure will be given priority relative to staffs' summer schedules and the request granted when we see fit do deal with this disloyal, lazy, ungrateful deadbeat upon payment in full of the delinquent account.
We strive to provide sellers with the best on-line sales experience and are committed to you, our membership.
AndRay.

The store is now closed, the user has been deleted but Wagglepop's listing count didn't drop when it closed
I checked Google and the 2,279 listings are still active and customers can buy them. Here's one of them

I guess I'll have to temporarily delay taunting Ray with my new signature line "Amy has more listings than Wagglepoop nyah nyah nyah nyah"Â

I wonder what percentage of the 100+ stores that closed since the fee hike announcement didn't know that if they don't delete their listings before closing their store the items will remain active? WP's listinng counting is likely inflated by much more than that seller's 2,279 items.

My guess is few, if any, since they didn't even know HOW to close their accounts, let alone that they would have to physically delete the listings, one by one, to render them canceled.
