Congrats, Brat! You've given me more incentive to work at getting my eCrater store stocked. I have so much work to do, it's daunting.
If anybody here can get access to the WP boards, I double dare you to copy Brat's post over there. AQUARIANS RULE!
Oh, I almost forgot. Hey, Ray Â
Thanks Alskling! I have a lot of work to do too. I have so much research to do, I have to dig through bins, and take pics....with my rugrats home this week its been hard cause I can not spend as much time online. I was surprized yesterday when I had three sales in one day, and one was a nice multiple purchase for $80. I started to get a sale every other day for the past week or more and then 3 yesterday..yeah!!! If this keeps up, I will not even have to do any auctions on ebay.Â
Oh and Ray......

Congrats Brat, Ecrater is a good site. You gotta love only have paypal fees, or if they use google, NADA fees.
There are several free directories that were posted on the ecrater forum too that you can submit to.
If you haven't already read this thread it is very helpful too.

Don't forget that ecrater has an RSS feed. You can submit your feed to TT. Just PM Regic and she will help you out.
Thanks for the link chiquita, I am going to work on some of the advertizing ideas right away. It is nice to keep all/most of the profit! I am lost when it comes to RSS feeds, I have no clue what they do. Thats another thing I have to find out about. I thought I was going to get some housework done today but my husband just called to say he hit the motherload of hot toys, and when he gets home I have to list them all asap on ecrater! He has been looking hard for these johnny lightning white lightning cars and he found some, also a bunch of new wwe figures. I guess I better get off this computer and get some of the cleaning done before he gets home. Hopefully he did not spent too much money! Hope everyones day is full of sales!

OK, GUYS!
ADVICE, PLEASE! I started an eCrater store with the same Designers Bargains name that I have on eBay, and was planning on transferring some of my items into it. I've yet listed an item and have just spent my time setting up the store. I'm now wondering if maybe I should be reconsidering my set-up.
Since eCrater is free, I'm wondering if maybe I shouldn't be breaking up my one big store into separate, individual stores for easier customer search. My eBay store is stocked with apparel and shoes for men and women, from casual to formal and everything in between, including vintage dead stock. In other words, I'm wondering if creating a Designers Bargains Shoes, Designers Bargains - Petites, Designers Bargains - Plus, Designers Bargains - Mens ( you get the idea) -- all being separate stores, would be preferable to having everything lumped together under separate categories and sub-categories, as I do in my eBay store.Â
I looked through the site and could find no restriction on multiple stores, or maybe there is, but I couldn't find that info. Any help would be appreciated.
 Â
Congrats on the sales Brat! Sounds like you have a lot of work ahead of you tonight with the new toys - good luck!!
Alskling ~ If it were me, I would leave it. Say someone buys an outfit and needs a pair of shoes? Or, suppose a customer buys from you loves the item and the cs but has no idea you carry xxx. I think by separating them you could be losing out on some sales you might otherwise have with impulse and repeat buyers. I'm no expert though, so just MHO.
And again today, WP is experiencing a dynamic growth trend (please see earlier in this thread for the appropriate WP definition of growth):

Alskling,
Splitting up into a few different stores may be the way to go but it would be up to you in any case. Take note that you will have 3 times the amount of work with the different email accounts. I have just the one ecrater store right now with over 1300 items in it. I am also considering splitting it up as I have many more items to list. What I am thinking about doing is just making my item features individual stores within the same store (men's, women's etc) and see if that isn't easier to manage for the time being.
I find that if you split your stores most people tend to neglect the other stores and concentrate on the main one that you started. If one site could come up with a way to control multiple stores from the same control panel well you know that would be the best solution for online sellers. Most buyers don't go to an apparel store to buy a collectable item.

Users can subscribe to them to receive updates on your site/store/products. Here's an example of an eCrater store's RSS feed:

All we need is the store URL.Â
Thanks for the advice, everyone. Your point, Eclectica, is a good one. I've spent quite a few hours setting up my categories, and suddenly it occured to me that maybe I'm missing the boat and should be created separate stores instead of separate categories within one big store.
OK, another question. I'm starting a new specialty line of Nordic arts and apparel, consisting of Scandinavian arts (artisan glass, pottery, antiques) and traditional apparel along with German Tyrolian art and dress. I've already received the green light to set up this specialty store on Etsy, and am wondering if I should create one on Ecrater as well, put these items in my Designers Bargains Ecrater store, or just not deal with them on Ecrater. I want to get the most traffic and exposure. Any thoughts? Â

I don't know a whole lot about Etsy in terms of traffic, etc., but from the sounds of it that would be the perfect place for those type of items. In that case, I wouldn't bother listing them on eCrater or maybe just list the apparel since that goes along with what you already offer? I suppose it just depends on how much extra work you want, going along with what Truth pointed out.
