This particular person seems to *have it in* for E... And E will never learn...
On a very bright side. I have yet to see any of this - even close to this here on Wagglepop.
I feel very safe and secure here.
HELLO! And as long as WP remains invisible to hackers and everybody else, including BUYERS, all Poppers will be safe and secure, indeed.

Hello Members,
With the official Wagglepop Grand Opening just five days away on this upcoming Thursday, we thought it might be important to go over what to expect, how best to prepare, and how those who would like to can help.
----------
Traffic
While our initial expectation was for site traffic to as much as "triple" over the first 60-90 days, upon re-examination it seems that estimate may be quite conservative.
The potential exists for exponential-type traffic increases in just the first 7-14 days based on the latest projections. Of course, we cannot predict that actual performance, but we have every indication that activity may be incredibly high starting with day one of the period.
Activity
Peripheral to increased general traffic we project there will be increased activity at all levels: registrations, Store openings, bids and purchases, and Community forums participation.
Preparation
In preparation for the increased activity, be sure to enable and optimize your BusinessBuilder advanced selling tools, and check your Stores and listings for any broken links or general errors that may need adjustment or attention. Make sure that your email client will be able to handle large increases in mail volume, and that your inventory is current and ready for delivery as activity dictates.
How You Can Help
With hundreds (or potentially thousands) of new members each day, we will have lots of new participants on the Community forums. Our Wagglepop community is one of support and collaboration, and any help that our veteran members can give the newest members by welcoming them or answering questions will be very much appreciated. It will be a tremendous help for staff, and it's a great way to let new members know more about who we are here at Wagglepop.
----------
Thursday, 3/1/07, marks the start of our official entry into the mainline online consciousness with a six month Grand Opening campaign designed to invigorate the marketplace and accelerate the growth of Wagglepop for that period and beyond.
It's going to be an exciting day, and we continue to be pleased and honored to have such wonderful support, and we value the faith you have placed in us.
This is for everyone who believed

Increased traffic for WP what a joke. Here is one way Ray will show increased traffic by manipulating the alexa numbers.

That's wishful thinking.
eBay and Yahoo are in the "mainline online consciousness". uBid has 4.5 million members and LiveDeal has over 1 million monthly visitors but they're unknown to the average Internet user.

These 2 articles are focused on Web 2.0 companies but the comments apply equally to Wagglepoop and the talk of last year's 'massive' 2400 registered user stampede to the site. Substitute the words 'the valley' in the article with 'the forums'.
p.s. Raise your hands if you're familiar with AuctionFire. No hands raised? It has 70,000 users. Raise your hands if your friends or family members are familiar with LiveDeal. No hands raised again? It has 1 million unique monthly visitors.
Quote:Over the last several weeks, I’ve been on several phone pitches from west-coast companies that are looking to be the “flickr of XXXX” or “like del.icio.us but YYYY” or “the Digg killer”. It got me thinking – how many people outside of the valley have ever heard of these companies? I asked a bunch of local (Philly-area) acquaintances and the answer came back loud and clear: none – nada - zip. People here have barely heard of Myspace and Craigslist – let alone any of the “hot” Web 2.0 companies.

Unfortunately, many entrepreneurs (and many VCs) confused one time “tryout users” with real sustainable users...

Yes, eclectica, I am on my fifth ID. The door has already been slammed and locked (not) four other times.
Most of the outside traffic, in my opinion, is coming straight from those of us who pop in left and right to read the boards. Also, another big burst of traffic seems to be coming from linkreferral and reallysmartdeals. Just because someone pops in to your store does not mean they stay long enough to look around.
Traffic does not equal sales. How many buyers do you really think are going to put up with phone registration? Unless they are family members and friends, dream on happy poppers.

Garbage is a good way of describing traffic generating programs like linkreferral. I disagree with this statement on their 'what is...' page:
Quote:2) Improved search engine rankings and SEO optimization.
Traffic generating programs/traffic exchanges like linkreferral usually have the exact opposite effect on your SEO.
