How about NO FEES, ease of creating a great looking store, ease and speed of listing and revising listings? Plenty of those places.
Quote:Notice that the reasons don't include sales as a KEY reason
Yes. I noticed that, too.
JUST SAY "NO" TO JUDGEMENTAL IGNORANCE.

All of these reasons including creating a great looking store, ease and speed of listing/revision of listings, are available for free including some sites that don't even charge FVF, at over 100 sites on the net.
Reality would indicate that the most important reason for selection of one venue over all the others is and will always be
are there
BUYERS, period. Not seller to seller sales, actual unique buyers, and in enough quantity for the site to even begin to survive in an extremely competitive arena.
The answer is that at the present time the buyers(who are not sellers) who shop on online auction venues are only to be found on Ebay. I am talking about a buyer base that no one can even begin to touch.
Another fact is that Ebay's buyer base is leaving, due to fraud, and a failed effort by Ebay to provide a safe marketplace. The catch is that the buyers are not going to WP or any other small auction venues. They are going to established businesses like Overstock and Amazon, and more and more are finding independent websites for their merchandise.
WP is not unique, new, or "special". It also happens to be in the minority of start-up auction venues that charge an upfront fee, hardly a value, when a side by side comparison is done to at least a dozen other sites who charge no upfront fees at all.
From the WP sales report.
Quote:An important distinction need be made concerning conventional ideas about the meaning of various traditional sales statistics and measures, and how differently the Wagglepop seller business model relates to that.
The Wagglepop seller business model relates to the # that Ray makes up each week!
Any sales # that isn't backed by factual information such as completed listings should be ignored. Conventional ideas about the meaning of various traditional sales statistics and measures would prove the facts however Ray choses to allow anyone to know the true numbers. If Ray were to sell the site he would have to prove his numbers by using those conventional & traditional measures. We can safely say nobody will buy a site that avoids factual profit and loss.

Belle,
Shame on you for asking questions and expecting answers. PS is representing a site where questions are never answered and rarely even allowed. You wouldn't expect her to step beyond her comfort zone, now would you?
Speaking of sales reports, has the new one been posted on WP?

You are quite possibly right , Askling.
However, she did say that she wanted to contribute her insight, and I am hoping that she will therefore answer my questions.

I agree but I still think it goes back to the whole reading comprehension thing (buy vs be, you vs your) that I talked about a fee times before. They really don't quite understand what a question is. In the back of her mind it has been deleted.
