When does WP begin its new life as an Amazon affiliate site?
When the anorexic flea becomes a normal eater again...
Could someone please take the time to explain to me what it means to be an Amazon affiliate, what it involves and what's in it for Ray?
I may be a cyberstalking Alzheimer's patient but inquiring minds want to know. You may have to explain it again to me tomorrow, since no doubt I'll forget.
If you join Amazon's affiliate program you can display a wide range of inventory on your site. You are provided a unique link that identifies your offerings. When a visitor clicks through and purchases from Amazon you receive a commission.
Lots of places offer affiliate income and lots of sites benefit from the clicks, like TT, other sites and blogs. Sometimes the clicks and purchases help support the site. Sometimes, as in the case of the Yahoo and GeoCities circa 1999 - 2001, there's the potential to make a great deal of $$.
I'm gonna' go check eBay for fuzzy pink bunny slippers...
So does that mean that Ray will populate Wagglepop with links to Amazon and when someone buys fuzzy pink bunny slippers through Amazon via the WP link, WP gets a click-thru commission?
If so, isn't that contingent on someone actually going to WP in the first place, which nobody did and probably nobody will? Or do I have it all wrong?
With Amazon, folks have to actually buy stuff to make a commission. Ray stated somewhere along the line that the site made a whopping five bucks or something in commissions one month.
If some of his worshipers customers had not made an conscious effort to purchase through his affiliate links, he prolly woulda' made squat.Â
So, no, DB, ya' don't have it all wrong.

Nimrod Wrote:No ~ because smart sellers will build their business on the site(s) that will enable them to be the most successful. I don't care whether eBay listens to me or not, I care about supporting the sites that will enable individual sellers to have the most success.

Hello everyone,
Just wanted to let you know that Rscipt is now under new management. The forum is once again open and support will be much better.
Thank you,
Rscript Management
Rscript website redesign, price increase from $99 to $299
The new features... the bulklister ($500!!!
) store templates and auction templates look frighteningly like the old MoPlunder site, and these are templates only she had from SRay's freelance shopping. The private domain doesn't help my confidence any either. Whoever it is should take the false advertisement of "lower pricing" down since they really just raised the price for the same old POS script.
Evidently the guy likes blue.

If you purchase from RScript this is the person ya' send the $$ to.
and BTW, WagglePop's mail server is still alive on the RScript server...kinda' wish I hadn't seen that, now I'm gonna' have nightmares about the creature rising from the oozing stench to stalk needy, misguided sellers through eternity....
